A Short Guide To Happiness

Happiness is something that is right in front of us. Grab it! Don't miss a chance to be happy. Ever since i've gotten to college, i've realized it's very easy to let stress take you over. Keeping up with your school work, different clubs and activities, and having a successful social life isn't as easy as it looks in the movies. The easiness is a lie and most of the time, you don't have a 110% perfect day, everyday. Having time to yourself alone and creating yourself an outlet, such as a hobby you enjoy, really does help to take your mind off of some of the stress and let you relax after a bad day. There are millions of opportunities in the world that offer us happiness and help us relieve the stress we're experiencing. Happiness is always a choice. Choose happiness. Always.

Outlets come in all shapes and forms! For me, I resort to reading, writing, or watching a sappy love story movie after a long day. Being able to do these things really helps your mind be free and not have to worry about the other troubles that may be taking you over. College students experience very much stress, especially during finals week (which is coming up soon for most). So to help with this, pick up a paint brush and paint something, even if you suck and have no artistic ability like me.. WHO CARES? Go outside and Eno by yourself until you fall asleep. Wake up with a sunburn. Watch funny movies, or watch a sad movie and cry out all of your troubles. I honestly love crying. That sounds so dumb, I know, like who actually really likes to cry? But, sometimes you just have to in order to feel better and to take the weight off of your shoulders. This doesn't mean you are unhappy. It just means you need to relieve yourself of some stress in order to reach the level of happiness you would like to achieve.

Find something you love to do, and drown yourself in it. Create a new world for yourself. Positive vibes only. There are millions of hobbies to take part of, and who cares if you aren't talented at anything? It doesn't mean it can't take part in it just to give yourself some time to breathe and relax. Read books, go hiking, paint, get into photography, sing, write, listen to music, pet puppies at the pet store, laugh at stupid YouTube videos, take a bubble bath, go thrifting! Do whatever it is you want to do and most of all fall in love with the world and the millions of things that contribute to our happiness. Stress sucks, don't let it take you over. BE HAPPY. ALWAYS.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
