Being the short friend definitely has its ups and downs. In my personal opinion, as frustrating as being short can be sometimes, it's more fun, exciting, and is the better deal 90 percent of the time. As a 5'0" college student, here are some moments I experience almost every day, and if you're short too, you'll understand.

1. Your friends will laugh while watching you try to reach things.

Even if you ask for help ahead of time, you get the comment, "I want to see you try first."

2. People don't take you seriously.

Sometimes your genius ideas are ignored because no one chooses to listen to you.

3. When you play hide-and-seek, you're pretty much guaranteed to win.

Fitting just about anywhere is a talent some people will never get to experience.

4. There's always someone taller who decides to stand right in front of you so you can't see.

Really though, how annoying is this.

5. "Piggy back" rides are always an option.

Too tired? Just ask one of your taller friends for a ride.

6. Your friends are willing to help you carry big objects, no matter their weight.

Let's be honest, we've all pretended to be weaker than we are when we don't want to carry that big bin all the way across the room.

7. People run into you -- a lot.

I may be short, but you still might see me if you look down.

8. You're easy to share blankets with.

Who's easier to cuddle up with on a small couch than a small person? No one. You don't take up too much of the blanket or room on the seat. It's a win-win for everyone.

9. If you're trying to get more cardio exercise in, go on a walk with a tall friend. You'll get a good workout just by trying to keep up with your short legs.

Who needs the gym anyway, am I right?

10. You're constantly reminded of your height.

"I never realized how short you actually are." Yes, I know.

11. People love to hug you.

You always get completely wrapped up and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't the best.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
