Growing up in Mechanicsburg, Pa., I have always been a Sheetz lover; however, once I started my college career at West Chester University I soon discovered a similar but different gas station/ convenience store named Wawa. Many Philly citizens were adamant in telling me that their precious Wawa far surpassed my hometown Sheetz. As an individual who has experienced both Wawa and Sheetz, I present to you the battle of the gas station/convenience stores.
1. Wawa has better mac and cheese than Sheetz
I have to give it to Wawa on this one. Sheetz mac and cheese is subpar compared to Wawa’s.
2. Sheetz has better items on the made to order screens
Sheetz provides a better selection of MTO items. They have tons of different types of sandwiches that Wawa does not have. They also have various dessert items on the MTO.
3. Wawa has a better selection of grab and go items
While Sheetz has better MTO items, Wawa has a far better selection of grab and go items. Sheetz grab and go section is pretty wimpy compared to Wawa’s.
4. Wawa has healthier options
I absolutely love to chow down popcorn chicken and fries from Sheetz; however, if I am looking for some healthier options, Wawa has them. They always have containers of fruit available for purchase.
5. Sheetz donuts are better
Sheetz definitely has better donuts than Wawa. There is no question about it.
6. Wawa has better coffee
Sorry Sheetz! Also, Wawa has free coffee day once a year.
7. Wawa is significantly faster than Sheetz
Wawa always has speedy service so that the customer can be in and out in just a few minutes. Sheetz workers definitely move a bit slower than the workers at Wawa do, they also have more MTO orders causing the slower pace.
Overall, whether you are a Sheetz or a Wawa person there are pros and cons to both. Personally, I will always be a Sheetz lover (sorry Wawa). However, I do enjoy stopping into Wawa for a cup of coffee every morning!
