She stood on the seashore admiring the moonlight as it gently danced across the polished face of the waters. The only sound that could be heard was the rhythmic cadence of the waves as they eagerly greeted their boundaries like an old friend. The cool breeze tenderly kissed her cheek as her feet slowly succumbed to the sand beneath them.
That's when she heard the voice of the Lord, calling her from the deep.
Her: Lord, why are you calling me out there?
Him: I want to teach you to swim.
Her: Lord, why do you want me here?
Him: For those who are following you.
Her: Lord, why did you put me in the heat of this battle?
Him: So, others can learn how to wield a sword.
Her: Lord, why did you lead me into this valley?
Him: Because I have people that wondered off and lost their way.
Her: Lord, it's dark. I can't see.
Him: Let me lead you.
Her: Lord, how can you use me to help others?
Him: Reach into their brokenness.
Her: How do I do that?
Him: Through your brokenness.
Her: If I do that, Lord, I will bleed on display for others to see!
Him: I bled, naked and on display for you.
Her: Lord, I worked so hard at burying those memories.
Him: Forgive them. I forgave you.
Her: But, Lord, you don't understand. I have scars
.Him: I have scars too.
Her: Lord, what do I have that you could even use?
Him: You have a voice.
Her: I don't understand. Lord, why does it feel like my life took a detour?
Him: I had to get your attention.
Her: But, Lord! Now I have nothing left.
Him: I had to empty your hands…..so you could swim.
