She Hates Me, But I Don't Care

Girls really can be your worst enemies.

She Hates Me, But I Don't Care

Girls will always be your worst enemy.

That statement is truer now than ever.

I've always had trouble staying friends with girls because of either something I did to help them out as a friend or they were jealous for some odd reason. My whole college career, I've strived to be the best person and student possible; I joined clubs and organizations in leadership positions and most importantly, I've tried my best to remain kind and wholesome to every person that I crossed paths with. Sadly, as five years have passed, I have had to burn bridges with people who were toxic to my character growth, but overall I've done pretty well. But I have come to learn that some girls will secretly be your "ain't sh*t" friend.

Now let's define what an "ain't sh*t" friend is!

This is clearly someone who doesn't care about your darkest times or wouldn't stand up for you, though they like to pretend that they would. Their advice would steer you down the wrong path and even if you can't tell that they're not sh*t, a true friend who is on the sidelines can tell for you.

Girls may come off to be the dirtiest of enemies when it comes to taking others down, but really they're the most scared. Some girls certainly know how to talk the talk but stumble and fall like a toddler, when they attempt to walk the walk. This rough and tough personality shows to be a cover that they know themselves that they are weak. Lately, I've seen girls tear each other down behind each others back and honestly, it's the saddest occurrence to watch. Yeah, I'm not going to lie, I have vented to my closest friends about girls that I don't like but I never say anything to them for a reason.

It's not worth my time.

Now, if these girls disrespect people I care about, then I'll set them in their place, but if they are mad that I'm making most of my opportunities, then, why waste my time?

But here is what girls need to realize:

If you have a problem with someone, tell them. Be a woman, and stand up for yourself.

Got a problem? Express it.

Don't be weak and hide behind your words which you use to hide behind someone else, what kind of person does that make you?

I choose personally to not confront others and worry about what others think about me. Obviously, if they spend so much time talking about me or judging me, they admire how far I've come in a short amount of time. The way others talk about their "best friend" or give death stares to me when I'm doing work I'm supposed to doesn't get them far. I'll keep up being good 'ol me and having the best time of my life ... while others remain miserable in their lowly lives.

Don't tear other girls down, lift them up.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
