What's Your Story?
Austin Bennett

People often go through life thinking that they are not special. They think that they are just as ordinary as the next person and that nothing makes them unique at all. Far to often do we as individuals go through our day to day lives believing that our stories are not worth sharing. I am here to tell you that you are wrong. Everyone has a story, and every story is important. In a way, each individual's own story is more like a "part" of a much larger book, or even books. We all have stories that include other people, which means includes their stories too. It's as if reading a multi-perspective novel; a large book that is broken down into the different characters own point of view. The whole storyline could be told multiple ways from the different characters.

The book of Life is a good terminology for society's interactions as a whole. We all are a part of our society and so we all have a story to share. I know that it can be difficult to comprehend and even believe this, but everyone is important. Every single person, every individual story, is needed for the full understanding of the book. I want you all to know that your words do matter, your experiences mean something, and your story needs to be heard. Every aspect is important and with each tale told, we can grow as one and reach a clearer understanding for not only one another, but with ourselves.

So, I challenge you to write your own story. You don't necessarily have to share it right this instant, but I want you to take a few moments and sit down and just think. Jot down footnotes, or write free handed, or even type whatever comes to mind. Revisit whatever you write and add a little more each time. You don't have to write your story all in one sitting, mainly for the fact that it's still being created. Take your time, but definitely think about it. So I ask you again, what's your story?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
