When you say you are a fangirl people start to judge you. They assume you are a screaming crying obsessive person and it makes them think you are weird. They think it it is just a new generation thing and it is something that makes us a bad generation. A lot of guys think that we are stupid for being fan girls. For crying over a band breaking up, a show ending, a movie series last movie. But those same guys scream at a tv and threaten to break things when their favorite sports team loses a game.

Being a fangirl is one of the best things I have ever done in my life. Not only do I get to enjoy something I love but I have also made some amazing friends from fangirling. It is also just a fun experience to love something so much that you dedicate parts of your life to something that brings you something so much joy in life. I am so sick of people shaming fangirls.

Yes, we scream over small things. Yes, we cry over a lot of things. We always make references to things about our fandom. But there is no need to make fun of us for doing so. It makes us happy. Just like sports make you happy, or shopping makes you happy.

Our fandoms are our happiness. They are things we can always fall back on even if we are having an awful day. They are what help some of us come out of our shells and make friends.

You may not like what we are into but that doesn't give you the right to shut us down and make us feel like we are less than because we like something you don’t. This fangirl stuff isn’t new just look back at Beatlemania. That is exactly what is happening now but just with things like One Direction, Doctor Who, Riverdale. We are allowed to love what we want to express it how ever we want. If that means wearing merch or getting a tattoo, making references when something reminds us of it. We can do that. It is what makes us happy and I don't get why anyone would want to shame someone for being happy. I would rather everyone I know be happy and be in a fandom than be upset. Being a fan girl doesn't mean we are crazy obsessed it just means that we love something so much that we have no other way to express it. So we scream, cry and buy merch.

So to all the fangirls out there. Be strong, be proud and fangirl your hearts out because nobody should be ashamed for loving something!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
