7 Things I Hate About
Group Chats

We have all experienced the dreaded world of group chatting. You do not want to offend the fellow members by asking to be taken out, and you also have FOMO if you it, however, you constantly consider blocking the messages from your phone. Here are seven reasons why I hate group chats.

1. It seems that your group chat is always the busiest at 2 a.m. the night before a super early test, and you cannot turn your phone on silent for fear your alarm won’t go off, so you listen to the constant vibrate for a good half hour trying to let it lullaby you to sleep.

2. When you are in your 50 minute lecture and don’t check your phone, you have 132 unread messages all from one group chat. Obviously, you have to read it all, just in case it pertains to you.

3. There are always those two people that forget individual messaging is a thing, so they have full 10 minute conversations in the group chat and you feel like you are creepily eavesdropping on their conversation and feel uncomfortable reading it.

4. If you do not agree with the rest of the group chat on something, prepare to be cyber-jumped.

5. There is alway that one person who watches all your favorite TV shows live and ruins the big reveals and twists for everyone else in the group.

6. When you write out a super long text for the group chat in hopes to get support or recognition and everyone else thinks that the other person will respond, so no one responds to you, you feel unloved and invisible.

7. You have a constant fear that you are going to get the group chats mixed up and accidentally talk bad about someone in the wrong group chat for him or her to see.

Compared to all the great things that would take too long to write, I probably should mention the seven reasons that I like group chat.

1. You get to laugh out loud in public because all of your best friends are hilarious and you just can’t contain yourself.

2. You always have a group of friends standing by when you are trying to procrastinate your homework to talk about anything from Pinterest pins to stupid things people from your high school say on social media.

3. It is one of the fastest means of information and gossip you will ever have. I found out Blake Lively was pregnant probably minutes after Blake found out herself.

4. You can always find someone to go to lunch with you, or to stay in and have a movie night, when everyone else is going out and you have had too long of a day.

5. You have an instant panel of fashion judges. Send a pic of the outfit you are planning on wearing and you will get instant feedback.

6. You never have to think too hard about decisions. Text the group chat and they will make the decision for you.

7. Last, but not least, all of your very best friends are just a send button away.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
