Like any holiday, it comes only once a year so it is important we make the best of it. For some, it is a kickstart to change while others feel relieved they made it through the year, the semester, finals week! Either way, it is time to celebrate!
Here are the celebration essentials:
1. Killer Outfit. Typically, we associate New Year's eve outfits with black and gold, or glitter and sparkles. However, you do not have to follow these trends. There is a wide variety of dark evening colors that can be incorporated into everyone's style. Embrace them and be creative from head to toe!
2. A bountiful feast. One of the best parts of the holiday season -- food! This day requires a quality home-cooked meal. Without it, the day would not be the same! Don't forget to help out in the kitchen. A feast is a team effort! Eat lucky foods like kale, black-eyed peas for prosperity and good health.
3. Decorations. When you are home for the holidays, it is nice to see the holiday spirit spread throughout the house, even if only for the day. Traditional family treasures hold memories, and it's nice to see them out every year. New Years eve accessories are also decorations, so be sure to decorate yourself with some cool party favors!
4. Fireworks. These spectacular explosions only happen on special occasions. You may think they are lame. Sometimes I doubt them, but every time I see fireworks, I am blown away! They are truly wondrous, so don't miss out.
5. A Resolution. Resolutions are not for everyone. However, for those who are interested in bettering themselves, this is the perfect time to do it. Stay positive and keep going. Believe you can do it this time. Make 2015 the year you finally do it!
6. Family. Be sure to spend some time with the family during the day! They are all happy to see you, so hang in there and continue to answer all those questions. Thank them for putting up with you for another year, and prepare them for the next one.
7. And of course, the squad! Who else would you want to ring in the New Year with other than your squad? You know your friends are ready for a good time. So celebrate with your closest, realest friends and turn up!
Be sure to take lots of cute pictures so you can remember the best night of the new year!
