As a person who plays numerous amounts of games, I find myself getting annoyed from several occurrences. From friends of mine and the gaming community, I found that I am not alone in these annoyances. Playing a game is fun and relaxing for most of us, even though some competitive games can and most of the time will get frustrating, but some things will just ruin the time we're having and just make the game harder to enjoy. Some of them are from the game itself while the other causes of our annoyance comes from external sources. I may have different choices than the majority, but these seven things annoy me the most while I am playing a game.

1. Aggression

While gamers will come across many people in the world and not all of them are calm. When I play competitive games like "Call of Duty," "Smite," or "League of Legends," I tend to play for fun more than the competitive spirit of the game. I do get drawn in to be a little competitive, but in the end I'm just playing to enjoy the game. I do like to win and will try to, but it's not a huge deal if I Iose as long as it was a fun experience.

Sometimes I have a bad game and messed up on some tactics or timing, but I try to come back from it and learn from the mistake. It's hard to look forward from a bad game, sometimes when there are people on the team being aggressive towards others because they happen to do bad. Some people take gaming a little too seriously sometimes in my own opinion. It's good to want to win and players should try to do so, but if the player happens to lose they should learn form it, not just yelling at their own team-mates and blaming them. Sometimes it is the player doing the yelling that is actually doing bad, but they have to divert attention else where so they pick on someone else.

In games that require teamwork I think it would be more effective if everyone actually tried to help others instead of only worrying about how well they are doing. Help the person out, maybe they are new to the game and just need some tips and Everyone has a bad game every now and then there is no need to yell about it, I'm sure the person are upset about it enough without the aggression.

2. Competence

Gamers have a hard time dealing with others that don't understand how the game works. This causes an annoyance to most of us. I for one understand that they may not know the game too well and I do try to help if they would let me, but I can't say I'm not annoyed by the fact I'm losing because someone doesn't know how to play.

Most of the time this is true with competitive games like "Smite," a mass online multiplayer battle arena (MOBA), in the game there are towers that you have to destroy in order to get to the enemy's base, however I've seen plenty of times people just attacking these towers and dying to them. They understand enough that the tower has to be destroyed, but they don't realize you can't just attack it. There are minions that end up heading to the tower, players have to push the "lane" of minions to the tower so the tower doesn't shoot the player and shoots the minions instead The player is free to hit the tower without taking damage and dying after the minions are there, however if you hit an enemy player while under the tower the tower will hit you and most of the time will kill you.

The concept of the towers in smite isn't hard to grasp, but I still see people just dying by them. When I say competence I don't mean be good at the game, but I mean that players should have enough wit to figure something out and learn from it, not continue to pound their head into the wall to make a hole when there is a hammer next to them. All games give you the tools and knowledge you need and the community can help as well, but you have to make the effort to actually learn the mechanics and use them.

3. Cheating

There is no reason anyone should be cheating in a game, unfortunately there will always be someone that does and it annoys the rest of us or is playing the game legitimately. Scoreboards are constantly being messed up by people using cheats or glitches that keep them from dying, or finish quicker than you possibly can. I have found myself to ignore leader boards in games in the past couple of years just because I so many are actually filled with people that didn't deserve to be on there. Not all games have "cheated" leader boards, but plenty of them do.

4. "Pros"

Gamers have all encountered someone that happen to be better than them in something and nothing really annoys them more than someone else being better than them. This concept has always entertained me, I find it funny that one: people that are not as good as you are just bad and thus annoys you and two: people better than you are "no life's" people that just plays the game all the time and thus annoys you. So in other words if people are not you then you're annoyed by them. The concept is funny, yet is true on many occasions even with myself. I'm decent in most of my games, I would consider myself a bit above average so I know there are people better than me, but I never want to meet them. I want to be the better one, but people should be able to keep up with me as well. I am annoyed by people better than me, but I do tend to learn from them as well. I'll find something they are doing to be better than the way I do something, though my way isn't terrible.

5. "Backseat gamers"

Just like when you are driving a car and people suddenly think they are experts and try to tell you how to drive there are people that backseat game. As the player of the game people tend to do things the way they want to. Making mistakes, killing certain people, being evil/good, being sneaky/loud, and other topics are some of the things people are told to do. Everyone has their own play-styles and decisions in games. So when someone else is telling the player what they should do when they are not asking for it they will get annoyed and frustrated. I know someone that ended up not playing a game at all because someone wouldn't stop telling her how to play it when she just wanted to play it her way. It can most commonly be seen among the YouTube comments of gamers and streamers and the host usually always end up saying that they are going to do things the way they want to. My opinion on this is that if I was told to play a game a certain way I wouldn't do it. I would play the game the way I want first, then if I want to experience it differently I may do what others suggested. I think experiencing the game for yourself should come first.

6. Terrible story

Not every thing that is annoying with gaming is the people that play it, or watch you play it. Sometimes the thing that annoys you the most is within the game itself. When a game has a bad story it can be very unsatisfying. In a lot of games that I've played that had a bad story the game play was good enough for me to enjoy it, but I was disappointed in the end. I feel unfulfilled since I'm a story based gamer, I enjoy playing games for the story, but not all of them as one good enough to pay attention to.

7. Mechanics

Sometimes the way the game works is just annoying to players. Whether it is the way you would heal or maybe it's that the character can be over encumbered (overweight from items in the inventory.) Most of the time these things make the game unique and different, as gamers we enjoy these mechanics, but at the same time they can get annoying. In the Fallout series if you pick up too many items you can get over encumbered and can't run or fast travel. This is an interesting thing in games and not all of them do it, I enjoy the mechanic, however I also get annoyed by it. Sometimes I would be too far away from any storage site and get over-encumbered, so as a work around I would drop one really have item and carry it manually across the map until I get to where I keep all of my stuff. In some games you can only heal in certain locations. Once again it's a cool, unique mechanic, but it can be annoying sometimes especially if the player is having a hard time with the game.

We gamers have our annoyances and they're a different list for all of us. Maybe mine will have some that are on yours or maybe I made you think about some that wasn't. What is on your list of annoyances?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
