Life for all people that live on the Earth is a journey. A journey shared from the first generation to the last generation, from the beginning of time to the end. History teaches the future the mistakes caused by human conflict and how to adjust for future situations. Moments in life shared by individuals can be sad or happy, but that makes life a worthwhile experience.

When one looks at a room, they see it's decorated with furniture, décor, and pictures. These particular things tell a lot about a person. It shows a person’s value and sense of style. Pictures, in particular, are things of sentiment to a person, describing a past event or an honor that the person has achieved, molded into a developed picture that one can reflect upon or relive.

Moments that are captured within a picture, moments that one can remember vividly within their minds are moments that make life worth it. These moments mold a person’s character, and it is important for people to have such moments to create their values and to forge memories within their life.

It is important to cherish moments in life, whether they be good or bad, since they are experiences that one can learn from. One can learn from their mistakes or they can be content with a happy moment that occurred in their life. Holding onto such moments helps mold a person’s ideals and gives them a sense of value for things in life.

The Values of Sentimental Moments

Sentiment adds value to places, objects, moments, or people, thus creating an invaluable experience that one can hold on to. Revisiting such recollections of memories reminds a person that there is something worth fighting for. Experiences that are shared among a lot of people create a bond between those people, further strengthening values of moments in life.

Not having sentiment for moments in life essentially devalues the moments created. So inherently it is important to keep sentiment. All people are different and experience things in different perspectives. People may view things differently than their peers, making a different experience for the particular moment.

Naturally, people have different values from one another. These may have been forged by their culture, race, the way that they were raised, or the way that the individual perceives things in life. Therefore, moments that one may find important may not be important at all for a different individual.

The sentimental things in life adds more each individual's life, accentuating who they are as a person. It would be easy to tell how a person is like based on the things they find important and the things that they do not. A person’s life essentially becomes a complex story book for others to read and perceive.

Life is a short experience compared to the relative existence of time and space. The time that people have on the planet are ones that should be experienced to the fullest within their life. Don’t dwell on past bad experiences but learn from those experiences to further enhance the past positive experiences and the future positive experiences that are sure to come.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
