Senior Year Of College As Told By Cartoons

We never really grow up, we just learn how to act in public.

Just wait, wait one second.

Has it been four years already?

It is senior year already, and you want to try and act like an adult, but you are also thinking this is the last chance you will get to act like a college student, while still actually being in college. If you're like me, this is your third semester as a senior and you are here for your victory lap. We can act all adult like and put together (for the most part) during the week, but weekends are free game. As a part of me still holds onto what it is like being a kid before I go into the real world, here is Senior Year of College as told by cartoons.

1. When people ask you what your plans are after graduation

Ask me in a few months... things are kind of stressful right now.

2. When applying for graduate school or jobs

This is so overwhelming, why are there so many options.

3. Coming home after a long day of internship

Sleep, I need sleep.

4. When people try to give you advice

Sorry, it's not personal I just can't with you right now.

5. When you get to class a few minutes late but the professor already locked the door

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be late, it was my alarms fault. PLEASE!

6. When the stress starts catching up with you

Breathe, in... out... in... out...

7. And the stress eating starts catching up with you

It's just a few extra pounds, it's not that noticeable... right?

8. SENIOR PICTURES! CAP AND GOWN PHOTOS! GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS!

So much to do, so little time to do it.

9. But you always have that one way of dealing with everything

PUPPIES fix everything, they can kiss away my sorrows.

10. Maybe there are two ways to fix anything

or chocolate, candy, ice cream, sweets in general.

11. Or even three ways...

Alcohol fixes anything that ails you - whether you pour it on you, or in you.

12. Having class or internship after a crazy weekend

If I just smile everyone will think I am not dying inside.

12. Tackling Senior Seminar/Capstone like

HELL YEAH BABY!

13. When the professor says there's no exam for this class

If I could bottle a rainbow to show my appreciation and give it to you, I would.

14. When it's finally graduation day

The moment we have all been waiting for, we are finally free...but then we realize that loans are going to start coming in and other adult bills, and if all that wasn't enough we have to leave behind our home from the last 4 years and it sucks.

15. When it finally hits you that you have to move away from all your college friends and this part of your life is over...

We have all been here, and if you haven't yet, don't worry because your time is coming.

College summed up:

We are the bear and the universities are the panda... I think you get it.

"I can see now the circumstances of ones birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." -Mewtwo (Pokemon)

College, in general, is gonna be some of the best and hardest times of your life. Senior year specifically will be hard when it comes to letting go, final (final) projects and having to move away and start over again after graduation. It happens to the best of us. Whether it takes you 4 years, 5 years and for some even 6 years, no matter how long it takes, it will be the best time of your life. The ups and downs and everything in between. We live and we learn and when one door closes another one opens.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
