Senior Year as told by The Bachelor

Senior year of college consists of excessive alcohol consumption, drama, relationships and tears, lots and lots of tears. Sound familiar? If so, you have probably indulged in a season or two of the hit reality tv show "The Bachelor." Much like the whirlwind of emotions contestants on "The Bachelor" face, college seniors embark on a similar journey filled with ups and downs and everything in between. If you have ever watched an episode of "The Bachelor" and are going through senior year depression, you can probably relate to these things:

1. You have a life crisis at least once a week

You'd do anything to go back to Freshman year and do college all over again because in reality, you don't really know what you're going to do with your life after you graduate.

2. When your family asks you what you're going to do when you graduate and this is the best you can come up with..

The only question adults seem to ask you nowadays is what you're going to do when you graduate, so you make up with the most "adult sounding" plan you can and just hope it impresses them.

3. You try to stay as long as you can

Because who doesn't want to be a fifth year freshman? Diploma = Final rose

4. Wine nights have become a daily routine

You've perfected the art of finishing a whole bottle of wine in one sitting trying to drink away the pain of being old and washed up.

5. You're surrounded by gossip, lots and lots of gossip

College isn't as big as it seems.. everyone knows everyone and your business is bound to get around.

6. You meet people that you wish you would have met sooner

Even in the last year of your college career, you are still being introduced to people you have instant connections with. You even meet people you wish could have been your partner in crime tackling college with you since freshman year.

7. Loans...

Much like the loans many of the contestants on "The bachelor" take out for their extravagant gowns, us college seniors have done the same thing but in order to afford that $300 textbook required for our most dreaded class.

8. You're constantly in denial

You are constantly in denial, whether you're in denial about a boy, the amount of effort you put into studying for your exam or the fact that you're graduating this semester. Denial is inevitable.

9. Questions about life constantly haunt you

Grad school, job interviews, debt, moving back home with the parents.. should I continue?

10. But in the end you wouldn't change a thing

Senior year of college can be scary and dreadful, but it is important to remember that you are not alone and to cherish the best four years of your life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
