Imagine you’re lounging around during a full-day of binge-watching. As you browse Netflix and can’t decide what to watch, one of two thing usually happens:

You either find something really exciting and new to start, or you end up re-watching every season of The Office. Let’s face it, the show never gets old.

The reason why it never gets old is because it’s relatable in so many ways. The characters, the scene, the irony, the dry humor. The show is a satirical masterpiece. Not only did most of the actors/actresses pretty much get their “big break," from The Office, but they went on to do great things due to their rising stardom from the show.

We watch comedies like The Office as an escape, and fall in love with the characters we feel like we can connect with. We can laugh at our pain and temporarily rid ourselves of worries and stress. For college students, this show truly reflects our state of mind due to the common need to sometimes laugh at the absurdity in life.

Even though we all love Michael, Jim, Pam and pretty much everyone at Dunder Mifflin, we can’t help but to feel the most like Dwight when it comes to relating to senior year of college—a little out there.

Here is the common senior year experience as told by Dwight Schrute:

1. The initial excitement is overwhelming.

2. You can't wait for what is supposed to be the best year yet.

3. You're so ready to live it up and enjoy your last year of college.

4. But then you start to realize you actually have a lot of work to do.

5. The assignments, projects, and responsibilities begin to pile up, all while you have to decide what to do with the rest of your life.

6. You try to maintain a sense of humor amidst the chaotic stress.

7. Until you eventually lose your shit.

8. And become delirious.

9. Or have a total mental breakdown.

10. Then you finally realize you need to get your shit together and focus.

11. But at the same time you still want to have fun.

12. So you make the best of it and enjoy time with the people around you.

13. Even though you probably really pissed them off at one point with your craziness.

14. You may have even hit it off with a love interest.

15. Or it may not have worked out and this was the breaking point.

16. Either way, throughout the roller coaster of emotions, you stay positive and make it the best senior year ever.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
