Senior Year As Told By Boy Meets World

If only Mr. Feeny could tell me what to do with my life next.

College flew by pretty quick. Looking back on the past four years, I can't believe how fast it is all coming to an end. Whenever asked about my future, how I feel graduating, and where I'm planning to be after graduation, my pretty pathetic answer almost always begins with "I just kind of feel like I'm going to throw up all the time." As probably one of the least prepared people to become a college graduate, I'm naturally having trouble coping with my time at school coming to a close. So with the never ending feeling of impending doom lingering and graduation less than three months away (ew.), I've resorted to my favorite cast of my favorite show to find the words to describe exactly what being a senior who never wants to graduate feels like.

1. The beginning of Fall semester:

Don't freak out, this year will go by slow, you will enjoy every single second of it. Don't even think about saying the dirty "G" word, thats like, f o r e v e r away.

2. When your senior schedule isn't as easy as you thought:

So maybe you got a little ambitious and tried to graduate with more than one degree leaving you with classes like Quant. Applications and Poli. Sci. instead of yoga and ceramics like you were supposed to.

3. When professors expect more out of you:

Listen, I'm essentially seven years behind in terms of responsibility and maturity so the absolute last thing I need is to be constantly reminded of how much better you think I can do. I've had a case of senioritis since the 9th grade, cork it.

4. Fall finals and their mental breakdowns:

Winter break is so close I can smell it.

5. Winter break in a nutshell:

Six weeks of absolute freedom!!!

6. Going into your Winter class too ambitiously:

Maybe I should put this much effort into my regular semester classes... but I probably won't change a thing, bye.

7. Spring semester starts and people keep saying the "G" word:

I do NOT want to hear about graduation until May so please stop sending me emails about class donations and graduation pictures, thanks.

8. Coping with being single and having to move back home:

Free meals is better than having a significant other anyway, right?

9. Asking for advice on how to get through exams:

As per usual, the adults in my life have no better idea on how to handle all of the stress of college any better than I do, thanks guys.

10. Time to pick up your cap and gown:

Excuse me did you just call me an "alumni"?!?!?! I've never been so insulted in my life.

11. Graduation Day:

You are in a state of complete shock the entire day because you really just don't know how the best four years of your life are now ending an a new chapter of more responsibility is beginning.

I'm not quite sure where I'm headed next, or even what I plan to do with my degree, but here's hoping that whatever the future has in store for me will land me in a relationship as beautiful as Corey and Topanga's with the same wisdom as Mr. Feeny.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
