Senior Letters: Part 5

Dear Tyler,

You have given me more than you could ever imagine. High school was terrifying for me, specifically because I had no friends and came from a private school. I had one friend that went to South Forsyth High School, named Carly, who forced me to join improv. I know that you do not remember this, but that was the first time I ever actually saw you. You performed an amazing scene, and I thought you were insanely talented. I spoke to you for the first time when Mackenzie gave me your phone number to tell you something, even though I was absolutely positive that you had no idea who I was. When you started dating Justina was when I actually texted you more often and slowly forced my way into your life, but it was not until you started dating Leah that we became closer. This year as a whole has been a roller coaster, but somehow you managed to put up with me through everything; which I can not thank you enough for. You have one of the most beautiful souls that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Thank you for holding my hand when it feels like the entire world hates me. Thank you for going on sibling outing with Jasy and me. Thank you for listening to me rant and taking cute pictures with me. Thank you for allowing me to be myself around you for three years without any judgement or criticism. I will never be able to tell you how much I appreciate having you in my life.

Dear Katelyn,

We became close in advanced drama my sophomore year, which was an amazing experience that I would not change for the world. Watching you perform on stage has always been mesmerizing to me, from Frenchy, to Shwanda, and Tara, you always manage to bring characters to life in you own unique way that I have always envied. Your talent and dedication led you down the road of becoming an officer and directing the senior show. Also, which has caused me to look up to you for so long. You are the type of friend to do cute and artsy paintings and run across an entire room to find me and dance to 'The Cupid Shuffle'. Thank you for learning math and psych with me and analyzing my random dreams. Thank you for being the Jess to my Cece. Thank you for the frozen yogurt dates and showing me how to be an amazing and accepting person. No one in the world will ever be able to be as kind, caring, and loving as you have been since the day we have met.

Dear Liv,

This was by the hardest one to write. Words can never describe how much of an impact you have had in my life. I had absolutely no idea that when I asked you for change during Grease that you would become my best friend. I had no idea that when I kept bothering you about prom during Little Shop that you would be willing to put up with me, enough to show your manicure for the dance, even though you probably thought I was insane. I know that I tell you this all the time, but you have one of the biggest hands in who I have become. Since I met you, you have shown me that you are an amazing leader who can be strong and stern, but caring at the same time. You are one of the major reasons I continued doing tech after Little Shop, even though I was scared to use a drill. For some crazy reason, you decided to be friends with me. You continue to listen to me rant and ask random questions at midnight. You and Katelyn are the type of friends to go to Athens to convince me to go to college with you when I graduate and plan a road trip to Florida. All just because we want to go to Disney World. You have given me so many opportunities to grow as a leader, including believing in me enough to let me stage manage the first show of the year and letting Emma Wigington and I take over Take A Stand. Knowing that you believe in me has given me the confidence to never apologize for who I am and the decisions that I make. Thank you for driving me literally everywhere. Thank you for encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone. Thank you for texting me and asking me to have a sleepover so we can watch movies and put on face masks. Thank you for being my best friend. I love you more than you will ever know.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
