Every summer, I make it a challenge to read at least five books over summer break. There are so many choices out there that it is hard to narrow down exactly witch book I would like to read first. Walking into Barnes and Noble I instantly get overwhelmed and the little book worm inside me starts to do flips. Going through elementary school and junior high I wasn't a big fan of reading partially because we had to read for classes or our "AR," or accelerated reading for those who are unfamiliar with this term. "AR" or accelerated reading was a program within many schools that strived to get children to read more by conjuring up a point system, each book we read was worth any amount of points. Larger books such as Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling had more points than a book such as The Magic Tree House by Mary Pope Osborne. And at the end of each quarter the children with the most points were reworded. Then came high school, in high school we read many books for English class such as The Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, Lord of The Flies by William Golding, and my personal favorite The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
It wasn't until high school when I learned a new appreciation for reading and today I love to pick up a new book and dive right in. I could read for hours all I need is a book that not only looks good because you can't judge a book by its cover, but also sounds interesting. One way to tell if a book is going to be so good that you can't put it down is to open the book and flip to the first page. If you read it and you are hooked, it's the book for you. Here is a list of five books that I suggest you read this summer.
1. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

2. Paper Towns by John Green

3. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
