Everyone deserves a second chance.
People do you wrong sometimes and that's okay. Life is full of mistakes, and at some point, everyone deserves a second chance. You deserve a second chance when you realize and admit to your own mistakes. Second chances should not just be given out. When you forgive and forget, that is when second chances matter the most.
But before you give someone a second chance, be true to yourself. Understand that a second chance is for someone you want to believe in and have something to prove to you. Don't let someone take advantage of second chances in which they hurt you over and over again. Second chances aren't just freebees to let you get hurt again and again hoping it will be different the next time around..
Second chances are for those you want to believe in. Second chances are for people to prove right from wrong after a mistake happened. Second chances give people the opportunity to better themselves and show their true care. Second chances teach you who's worth staying in your life. Second chances are a gift and should not be taken for granted. Second chances sometimes will even work out better than the first time, if one is able to prove themselves. But a second chance doesn't mean anything if you can't learn from your mistake.
If someone doesn't fix their mistake the second time, don't repeatedly give them more and more second chances. At this point, you are trying to change someone to be something they are not, and it's not fair to you. They have shown you the real them and unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. Second chances are meant to let someone prove themselves and show you that they are worth the friendship and a spot in your life. You should not take second chances for granted. Just because someone gives you a second chance, don't think they are just going to let you "prove" yourself over and over again. Prove yourself the first time to show them that your worth it if they really matter to you. Second chances should be a one time thing and if you screw up the second chance, you're not worth their time.
So next time someone that really matters to you in your life gives you a second chance, prove yourself. Show them you're worth it and don't give up on yourself and most importantly, don't give up on them.
