1. Emma’s Mental Health Continued: With episode two diving more into the mind of Emma’s most preceding fears, it is starting to appear that she may not be as mentally disturbed as we originally thought. For instance, when she discovered the pictures of herself at the old home and went back later to find absolutely nothing, I thought her psychosis could be taking a turn for the worse. I was surprised when her father, in a very creepy fashion I must say, decided to come back into her life at the end of the episode. This made me wonder that everything she saw in the barn, on the lake, and in the coffee shop was only triggered by fear of the unknown rather than a mental illness.
2. Audrey’s Involvement Continued: This episode revealed a ton about Audrey’s involvement with the murders of the previous season. At first, I was sure she couldn’t have been the one swinging the knife, but the new Ghostface has me thinking otherwise. When Noah is informed about a possible lead from a man named Eddie who works at a local motel, he tells him that Piper frequented there and at one point was seen arguing with a girl. Just when Eddie was about to describe the girl he gets a phone call from Audrey, in disguise, who tells him not to reveal anything or he’ll end up dead. Clearly she was saving her own ass because Noah would’ve lost his mind hearing that Audrey knew Piper in any scenario. There is one part about this mystery I haven’t been able to piece together yet. During the final moments of the episode we see Audrey sneak into the storage unit, discover Jake’s decomposing body, and see the note that says “See how I finished the job for you, Audrey?” My mind can only wonder to what extent she played a part in finishing the job. My guess is either that Jake was supposed to die that day in the bowling alley and Ghostface killed him to send a message to Audrey, or she was the one who stabbed Jake and didn’t have the guts to finished the job later on in the season. Hopefully episode three dishes out more juicy details. It’s only a matter of time before the truth reveals itself for both Audrey and her friends.
3. Eli, Gustavo, and Zoey: As creepy and condescending they may appear, the extent to what each of these characters brings to the show will be interesting to see. Eli’s first few impressions left a sour taste in my mouth. He seems to be more concerned with his own well-being rather than anyone else around him. Since Kieran relies on him and his mother as legal guardians I could see this crutch as a way to twist Kieran’s arm. Gustavo gives me the same feeling, but I predict his role among the Lakewood six to be more heartfelt. He has a deep connection to them in some way, but I don’t believe it is to hurt them but rather protect in the time of crisis. It would be totally badass to see him jump in front of the knife for one of our original survivors or maybe swinging it … we shall see. Last, but not least, Zoey has potential to be one of my new runner-up favorites, behind Brooke of course. She’s charming, smart, but aware. Her strong mind could be a valuable asset in everyone’s survival this season. But from the flirtatious side of her, could also be stirring up some trouble.
4. Ms. Lang, The New Teacher: A quick snippet I wanted to point out about this new teacher. She’s slightly creepy. It could be me but she possesses this strange aura that mirrors Mr. Branson in a sense. There’s a possibility she’s truly a kind soul and only means well for the kids of George Washington High, but those odds are always questionable. During the scene where she and Emma grab coffee and we see her quickly checking on a recorder she has placed in her bag, I began to wonder what she could possibly be doing with that information? Was she using it for her own research or is she providing the new killer with sensitive information with the intention to use it against Emma?
5. Next Victim Predictions: Without another dramatic death taking place this week I started to mock up ideas about who was next in line for Ghostface. We know at some point, Eddie, the manager at the motel falls victim to an attack, but that will only be minor for the moment. My best guess is that Kieran will die shockingly early in this season. But I could also see this taking place as an agonizing sudden death close to the finale. In reality, I want all of the characters to make it out alive, but that notion has proven false. All I’m saying is, if they kill off Brooke, I’m done.
