The Scoop On Summer Sixteen

Saturday August 27th was arguably the best night of my life. There was no better way to celebrate the end of a stressful Summer and the beginning of my Senior year of college than by attending a concert by the greatest himself, Drake.

The concert was at the Amalie Arena in downtown Tampa, Florida. The night began slow, with the concert beginning at 6:30 with several different opening acts. It was nice to have some background music to get pumped, but the restlessness grew for the legend to finally make his appearance.

Finally, it happened. He made his grand entrance beginning the night with Summer Sixteen. It was a great set list with two hours of seamless flowing through several top hits by Drake himself, and Future making his appearance about halfway through. The crowd loved every minute of Drake pouring 100% into giving an amazing show.

The energy the entire night was thoroughly impressive, and the stage was spot on all the way down to the decorative lights. It was easy to tell that very deep thought went into ensuring this was a smooth show for people of all ages and backgrounds to come and enjoy their last hoorah of the Summer.

He ended the night with the ever so humble Legend, making his mark as one of the best of all time. Although it was sad to end the night, the fact that my last Saturday night of the Summer was spent in the presence of Drake himself is enough to prepare me to crush my Senior year. As the legend himself would say, “I’m way up, I feel blessed.”

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
