7 Scientific Reasons You Should Be Taking Bubble Baths, And Not Just For Self-Care

Prior to contrary belief, bubble baths are not just for kids. They can be just as invigorating and replenishing for adults, whether you believe it or not. I've always enjoyed taking baths at night -with a glass of red wine, of course. It's the perfect way to end the day and get ready for bed.

As much as I love my hot showers, I also love pretending I'm having a spa day in my own personal jacuzzi. Besides the blissful mood that a steamy bath will give you, there are actual health benefits to taking them once in a while. So, slow down, relax, and take a bath.

1. Reduces pain and inflammation.

I'm sure you aren't surprised to hear that submerging yourself into hot water is good for healing injuries, in general.

2. Heart benefits.

Just like going on a run is good for your heart, hot temperatures do the same. Both cause your heart to beat much faster, therefore, your body feels like it did a really great workout.

3. Improve sinuses.

The steam from your bath can really open your airways, allowing you to breathe a whole lot better. If you continuously take baths, your lung capacity can even expand in large amounts!

4. Keeps hormones in check.

It can be tough to keep your hormones under control, however, baths can be really effective. They typically will trigger you to release more serotonin, which will, in turn, trigger you to be happy and feel pretty great.

5. Moisturizes skin and hair.

Obviously showers can help keep you clean, but studies show that actually soaking in water can help your skin and hair even more.

6. Improves sleep cycle.

Typically after a bath, you might feel ready for a long snooze. That's because baths increase the bodies' melatonin at a rapid pace, making it easier for you to get your ZZZ's on.

7. Calms nerves.

Maybe you had a horrible day at school and want to forget it ever happened. Take a bath. It's surprisingly beneficial to your brain, nerves, and any muscle pain related.

You might find more benefits as you start taking more baths, but these are the ones that scientists know to be true. Showers can be great, but every once in a while, take a bath. You might discover they are the only thing that can put you to bed at night!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
