Tonight she walks across the grass
Every step on crunchy leaves
She walks down the hill
Past the branches of trees
The moon is full
Her eyes filled with light
She shoves her hands in her pockets
Unknown to fear or fright
Her face sweating
Her head hot
She walks slowly in hopes of
Not slipping on dirt and rocks
To meet in the woods
with her pal, Anders
She adjusts her mask
And tries to conceal her laughter
Further into the darkness
She hears shuffled footsteps ahead
She rushes forward to scare off
Her friend
As she nears the water on the bottom of that hill
She realizes that she and Anders were never alone
As she stumbles over his body
That lied still
