8 Millennial Phrases That Lost Their Appeal Because We Use Them Too Often

Let's restore what was once very appealing, shall we?

Don't you just hate whenever one of your favorite songs gets so overplayed that it ends up becoming one of your least favorite songs to listen to? Unfortunately, this same occurrence has likely become very common in many of the conversations you have with your family members or friends. In other words, although they might simply be trying to fit in with everyone else in terms of their vocabulary, it's likely that they are actually reducing the appeal of certain sayings as a result. If you're interested in finding out how I genuinely feel whenever people decide to use some of these exact sayings with me, or even simply learning how to "roast" your family members and friends whenever they say them to you from now on, simply keep on reading.

1. "I'm obsessed with X!"

Okay well, can you elaborate on that just a tiny bit more? I mean, how do you expect me to be as obsessed with something as you are if I have no valid reason to be obsessed with it?

...WHY ARE YOU OBSESSED WITH X (whatever "X" might be)?!

2. "Honey" this, "honey" that.

Listen, sweetheart, I'm not married to you. Nor are are we dating. And even when I do finally get married, the only people I won't mind calling me "honey" will be my parents and husband.

Do you see your name on that list, dear?...No?...Well then maybe you ought to stop calling me your "honey" then!

3. "YASSS!"

Actually, the correct word is "Yes", NOT "YASSS" Also, something else you should consider is that "YASSS" has no definite meaning. So, how the heck am I supposed to know what makes something so "YASSS" in the first place? Sure, maybe you are actually agreeing with something, but how exactly do I know that for sure?

Do you see a pattern here?

4. "Byeeeee!"

My friend and I actually ended up questioning the maturity level of someone who said this to us, just because it made both of us feel extremely uncomfortable. Again, what's with the unnecessary emphasis? It ain't sophisticated, deary (and it isn't a word either). So it's probably best you stop saying it.

5. "That's so cringe-worthy."

Can I get a little more description, please? In other words, exactly what is it that makes whatever it is you're talking about so "cringe-worthy"? Maybe then, it will make sense to me.

6. "You're being so extra right now."

Oh? In what way? After all, the only good thing that came out of you saying that to me is the fact that I've been compared to one of the most successful gum companies in the world (ha, ha). Perhaps if you want me to calm down about something in particular, you should say that I'm "overreacting" to it instead.

7. "Yo girl"

I'm sorry...I think you have the wrong mother.

8. "Bruh"

You know, there's a reason why the guy who said "Bruh" was so hilarious the first time around: He said it once and just left it at that.

Well, that puts an end to another one of my written rants. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings too much. Seriously, that wasn't my intention at all in writing this. Rather, it was to simply help you become one of the main reasons why these sayings will hopefully grow more tolerable again.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
