5 Tips That Will Save You Money On Your Next Starbucks Trip

We all know that feeling of "treating yourself" to a Starbucks coffee one morning and one becomes every day then suddenly you wonder where all your money went. Those $5 pick me ups do end up making a huge dent in your paycheck and here are five tips to feel better about your morning treat.

1. Ask for light ice

Finishing your coffee and seeing the cup filled with 90% ice does not always feel good. Asking for light ice will give you so much more to drink and your coffee is still cold enough to enjoy right away.

2. Ask for a bigger cup

Get your daily fix in a venti instead of a grande. More than half the time the barista will accidentally make a venti instead or even just give you more drink than you paid for.

3. Bring your own cup

Not only do you save the earth but you also save 10 cents. Bonus tip, if you bring a venti and order a grande the barista may give you a little extra.

4. Ask for your drink shaken with no ice

This tip may seem a little extreme but its definitely worth it. When you order your drink ask for it shaken with ice but no ice in the cup. This will make your drink cold plus you get so much more when you do this.

5. Just get espresso

This is a tip I have been using for years to make my coffee literally 50% cheaper. I order three shots of espresso over ice in a venti cup with extra milk and vanilla syrup. Order that exactly and you got yourself a $3 venti vanilla latte.

In the end, we all want to save money but we also want coffee. We could always just make our own cup of coffee at home to save the most money, but we all know it never comes out as good. With these tips, you can continue making your Starbucks trips guilty free and even get a muffin next time.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
