This past weekend SAU's Theatre Department produced an amazing play named "Our Town." "Our Town" is a 1938 metatheatrical three-act play written by American playwright Thornton Wilder. The play tells the story of a fictional American small town of Grover's Corner between 1901-1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens.
Metatheatrical describes aspects of a play that draws attention to its nature as drama or theatre. That simply means the audience will be directly addressed during the play. There were a lot of people involved in the show. The production staff was director Cason Murphy, production manager and design Richard Vollmer, sound designer Hali Pinson, production stage manager Joann Shaver, assistant stage manager Jared Smith and assistant stage manager James rich.

This show was amazing. It made you laugh, cry, and think. The actors did a terrific job on bringing this show to life. What I got from the show was the question: "Are you living or are you existing?" Which means: are you truly living your life or watching it as it goes by? If you didn't see this play, you really missed a truly amazing play. If you get the chance to see it again, GO. Great job!
