Dear Santa,

You did it again! Another year’s work is completed and every boy and girl felt the spirit of Christmas once more with your help! You work hard all year in order to spread joy around the world.

Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. And because of all that hard work, I think you deserve some time to yourself. I figured you might not know where to start, so I have made a list of all the possible things you can do while taking some time off!

1. Go on Vacation:

This is an obvious choice for some relaxation. Getting away is always peaceful and rejuvenating. I suggest somewhere sunny, because we all know the North Pole keeps you covered and pale. Just don’t forget your sun screen, and get those toes in the sand.

2. Read a Book:

Your life is a fantasy to us, but you live it everyday. When you aren’t reading Christmas letters, you should experience some adventure, mystery and drama in stories you aren’t familiar with.

3. Binge Watch the Best TV Shows:

Santa, with all your constant Christmas list checking, you don’t have time to watch the exiting new shows everyone is talking about. Go get yourself a Netflix account and snuggle up with Mrs. Clause and binge-watch away!

4. Hit the Gym:

Okay, we all know you are kind of obligated to eat all of those cookies we leave out for you, but they still can cause some damage. In order to get back stamina for the upcoming Christmas season, I suggest you get a gym membership. It will help boost your endorphins and get your spirits going.

5. Date Night with Mrs. Claus:

Mrs. Claus has been by your side and helping you and the elves prepare for Christmas Day. Her hard work shouldn’t go unnoticed either, so how about you and her enjoy a romantic night out… you’ll thank me later.

6. Enjoy a Spa Day:

Ahhhhhh, just thinking about the spa has me feeling stress-free. That’s what a trip will do for you! Go on a calming getaway and get the antsy energy out of your body. You will come back feeling good as new and ready for next Christmas.

7. Stumble Your Way into a Bar:

If you rather just do it the old fashion way, go out and get a drink. You deserve to get loose, dance a little and have some fun! Us college kids, and even sometimes grownups, do it.

8. Get Some Shut Eye:

Let’s be real, all of those ideas seem nice but what you probably really want is some good olé’ sleep. Do like the bears, and hibernate. (Maybe you can squeeze in the other stuff after)

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
