Nothing Special

I’m incredibly tired, mentally exhausted, and am having enormous trouble getting myself to sit here and write this article rather than take a nap or over-practice for the piano and vocal juries I have tomorrow. Never mind the fact that I can't speak actual sentences out-loud without mumbling and stumbling, I that shouldn't effect how I write, right? So I thought before I spelled write “witer.” Yeah…What further shows my level of exhaustion at this point is the mere fact that I pointed that out at all to an audience of readers who would have seen and known nothing if I hadn’t have…What an awkward sentence. Oh, well. I’m too lazy to go back and delete it now, so I’ll just move on.

You know when you’re very tired, and preoccupied, go out with friends, and end up asking how they are at least 5 times? That was breakfast this morning… actually quite often I suppose, but this morning especially. Or when you get distracted by a thought, end up inadvertently staring at someone, something, or someone’s dog for a bit too long, and making awkward eye contact sometimes followed by an even more awkward wave and slow turn away…That has also happened to me more often then I’d care to admit…I am known to be a bit spacey from time to time...

I don’t really have a point I’m going to make and argue here. Quite frankly, I think there are quite enough points being made on social media right about now. This can thus serve as a break from that. I would be proud and rather surprised to find you’ve reached this point in my article…If you have, I guess I’ll keep going, first to see how long I can keep your attention without stating anything of major importance, but mainly because I have to reach the 500 word limit.

So…how’s it goin?

*Stare off into space for a solid five minutes that feel like a one second*

*Contemplate life, and come close to making a small yet seemingly significant self discovery*

*Get taken away from your deep concentration, distracted by your friend vying for your attention yet again*

*Make awkward eye contact with a baby sitting across the room*

*Smile*

*Realize looking any longer could make you seem creepy*

*Look away before anyone else notices*

Resume conversation with friend.

“So, how’s it goin?"

*Smile and nod*

*Have conversation of little importance as we’re both incredibly tired*

*Shuffle home in the cold looking forward to stripping down, and watching Netflix with a nice cup of tea and a cookie*

*Get back and realize you have to study for finals*

*Strip down, and watch Netflix with a cup of coffee, five cookies, a doughnut, and some chocolate occasionally salted with your tears of dismay and disappointment*

Well, that was fun. Made a bit of a skit…not like I’ve ever done anything of that sort…You know, I’d like to insert a gif here, but I’m not completely sure how…I’ll figure it out. Hold up. Yeah, I tried, not very hard, as I have very little motivation at this point to do anything at all unnecessary, but I tried…Maybe next time.

Oh, Happy Thanksgiving all! I just realized it's on Thursday. Hope you have a lovely time with friends and/or family! :)

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
