With everything going on in the world today and the holidays right around the corner, everyone should be extra cautious. Below are a few safety tips that could help all of us whether male or female be extra safe around campus.
- Try to walk in pairs or groups if you can. I get that sometimes we have no choice in the matter, but if you can prevent it please try. If you are walking alone please share your location with a friend or you can download an app that allows you to share your location with someone and you can update them once you've reached your destination safely
- If you feel like it's too late to be walking around, or you feel like your destination too far, please call a friend or see if your school has a transit system. If so, they will pick you up from where you are and take you where you need to be
- If you drive, be careful when getting into your vehicle. Please be aware and alert of your surroundings. Don't allow technology to be a distraction.
- Always Have security and safety applies available. Whether that's mace, pepper spray or anything else always be prepared to use it just incase. I recommend attaching it to your keychain if you can
- Don't be blind or nieve to your city and schools crime. The more you know about crime the more aware you become
