Good evening everyone! Thank-you for reading my article, today. I'm not going to wow you with fancy words. I'm just a regular guy expressing my opinion of what I feel to be right. I would like to start off with a quote by John F. Kennedy, "Let us not look for a republican answer, or a democratic answer, but the right answer." There is no doubt that our past president was a libertarian. Why be a libertarian? Well, I'm a libertarian because, as a manager, it is my job to make decisions based on ethical circumstances. It is the politicians job to hear the story of the people and respect them without judgement. There is an assumption going around that every libertarian wants to talk about the legalization of marijuana. Yes, this could make our taxes go up, but maybe if we know how to organize people's crime with substance abuse, we can make everyone happy.
Substance abuse is a very minor part of what being a libertarian actually is. We live in a free country, so we must live free. We must have a free choice, and a story of each individual must be heard before a politician should decide if he or she is just or not. All just beliefs, whether majority or minority must be taken into account. There are bound to be outliers in every political debate. Not only that, but we must find peace within the battles inside our hearts and minds, and the battles around us. To quote Tom Waits, "If we exercise our devils, our angels will surely fall." What son of God has ethics? There is not one man that can decide the fate of our country.
The Bill of rights even states that no state should deprive man of life, liberty, or property. It is not just a political party, but an ideology. It is the right to decide on whether a person is ethical or not based on your own judgement. It is the freedom to express an opinion. 'To be able to look at someone and decide if they are fit to run our country, not on their ability to talk to people, not on their claim of side, democratic, republican, or bipartisan, but by his or her own actions. It is real politics and the naked truth.
It is the ability to love someone with different view points other than your own. Many times I put my faith in politicians, but by being a libertarian, I put my faith in what really matters. James Madison talked about this idea of liberty, and even though his actions were loose from his words, he made a fair point. Our country should have the liberty it claims to have, but it does not. Liberty is the right to think independently. Th country should have liberty, and continue to have it, until it breathes it's last breathe.
