A Run Down Of The BB18 House guests

Vets, newbies, siblings, oh my!

The Whyville Times

Summer is in the air and so is the very popular summer show "Big Brother." With three twists in just the season premiere, this summer promises to be quite interesting. While the cast was revealed on June 14, audiences got to know the house guests more during the two-night premiere on June 23 and 24. Here are my first impressions of the cast and how they're doing in the game so far.

1. Bronte D'Acquisto

One of the twelve new players to enter the BB house, Bronte is sweet with a very unique voice. Secretly a mathematician, she hasn't entered into any alliances that we know of, except for her designated team. It should be interesting to see which side of the house she teams up with.

2. Bridgette Dunning

Another wild card in the game. Aside from her assigned team, we haven't seen her make any alliances. However, she is very nice and did well in the first competition. This may get her far when forming alliances and befriending other players.

3. Corey Brooks

A new player, he is one of few who want to work with the vets, but his vote to make Nicole HOH put him on a sour note with some of the other newbies. His athletic ability makes him a hot commodity when playing comps. However, Paul may be on to his desire to work with the returned players.

4. Da'Vonne Rogers

A returning player from season 17, Da'Vonne, aka Mama Day, only had two weeks in the BB house last summer before being evicted. She claims her biggest downfall last season was her outspokenness. So far, this firecracker is playing a sly game and I think she's setting herself up to make big moves this summer.

5. Frank Eudy

First making his "Big Brother" appearance in season 14, Frank is known for being a part of team Boogie and winning tons of competitions. His associated, however, made him a big target in his first season. His new strategy of laying low and losing competitions may see him walking out the BB house at a later date than last time.

6. Glenn Garcia

A newbie of the season, Glenn was on team Freakazoids and sadly walked out of the BB house on the first night.

7. James Huling

Another season 17 returnee, this prankster is back to finish business and win. Known as 'Captain Camo', his charm and strategic game play got him far in the last season. Considering most of the newbies have it out for Nicole, I don't think the target will be on his back for awhile.

8. Jozea Flores

A newbie and a member of the group "Big Sister," he once called himself the Messiah and now Da'vonne wants him gone, asap. Considering he spilled his game plan to her on the hammock, who reported it back to the vets, his chances of staying after the first week seem slim.

9. Michelle Meyer

Aka the Nicole look-alike, Michelle is outspoken and not afraid to confront players about their secrets. As a nutritionist, we'll see if she calls anyone out on their eating habits and also see how she feels about the infamous have-not slop.

10. Natalie Negrotti

A former NFL cheerleader, she is pretty physically fit and is confident she'll win plenty of physical challenges. This may help her down the line, but we'll see if her ability to win challenges puts her on the chopping block.

11. Nicole Franzel

Evicted from BB16 with seventh place, this small town girl is ready to give the game another go. Her status as a returning vet and the first HOH of the summer has all the newbies fuming and plotting her exit. The first HOH could be her chance to get out those who want her gone and could also set her up with some nice alliances for the following weeks.

12. Paul Abrahamian

Another newbie whom Da'Vonne is not fond off, Paul is outspoken and doesn't seem to like being told what to do. I think we're all waiting for an argument to break out between him and Da'Vonne. His outspokenness and independence may just get him evicted sooner rather than later.

13. Paulie Calafiore

The brother of BB17 runner up Cody Calafiore, Paulie has an instant in with the vets. This advantaged combined with his low key game play and relatable personality, has set him up nicely in the game. We'll see who he keeps his loyalty to- the vets or the newbies.

14. Tiffany Rousso

Another sibling of a former house guest, Tiffany also has an in with the vets but hasn't used it to her advantage yet. Da'Vonne seems to want to work with her and it'll be interesting to see which side of the house she aligns herself with.

15. Victor Arroyo

Another newbie who is very fond of Natalie, I see him being in a show-mance for the summer. After seeing him divulge his whole game plan to Nicole, he could be in trouble. His strategy needs improvement and his openness might just cost him.

16. Zakiyah Everette

Devoted to the newbies, Zakiyah wasted no time in forming an alliance with two other new players. She is determined to out all the veterans from the house but I highly doubt all the returning players will head out the door one after the other.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
