To The People Who Are Rude To Retail Workers, Please Stop, You Aren't Helping Anything

Don't be rude, dude.

When you go shopping do you remember how you treat retail employees? Did you go out shopping in a bad mood or blame some poor worker for something that didn't even involve them? I know shopping can make people crazy but remember, retail workers are humans. They have emotions too so when you yell, give attitude or push all your problems on them, it's takes everything they have to not fight back. Do you really want to leave the store known as the crazy person who freaked out over a $5 coupon?

I totally understand that sometimes you might get a rude worker. There shouldn't be a reason why they are rude to you because you are the one giving them business, but remember they don't own the store. They get paid whether you're happy or not.

Still, that employee might be upset and mad because they were treated badly. By making an employee angry, you are possibly setting up a domino effect that will keep going for the rest of the day.

You get mad, the employee gets mad, more people get mad and it's a terrible day for everyone.

Still, people need to understand that employees only have so much power over things.

If your coupon doesn't work, it doesn't work. If you don't have enough money on your card, it's not their fault. If you waited too long to return something and it's outside of the return policy, that's your fault. Employees can't override everything. Certain moves can make someone gets fired and all because you didn't want to drive 20 minutes to return something.

Stores and companies aren't out to get you.

Don't think that they are treating specifically you badly. Sometimes manager's and employee's powers can go so far. They can try their best but sometimes it can not be enough. Try to think of it from their perspective. Would you like getting yelled at or cursed out? Probably not because you know it totally doesn't feel good. Think before you act and think of alternate routes.

If you are nice, chances are that they will be able to help you a lot better and faster.

I understand everything can go both ways but why not enjoy the day. Understand that when you go out into the world, not everything will go perfectly for you. The world doesn't revolve around you. Things will go wrong but it's up to you to either let those things haunt you and ruin everyone's day or move on. You have control and you need to make the best decision for everyone.

We're all human so let's start acting like we are together in unity.

It'll make the world a better place and everyone can be happy.

That's what it's all about.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
