Do your days move way too fast?
Do you ever get anything done?
Are you always tempted to procrastinate?
Well you are doing life so wrong! Just kidding, but you may be making your life a tad bit more difficult than it has to be. One thing I've learned while in college is that it truly pays off to have a daily routine scheduled for yourself. It's already hard enough that you have classes smack dab in the middle of the day and you're required to go to those, but how do you use your time effectively in between those classes? Before I made a routine for myself, I am guilty of being the sleeper. I went back to my room for a nap whenever I possible could. Even when it only meant a half hour nap! If I knew what I know now I would have used those little breaks to get little tedious tasks done, or even to do something for myself. So, if you really want to know why you should have a routine, keep reading!
1. By the end of the day, you'll feel so accomplished!
There have been so many days where I've felt that I've just wasted so much time. I had nothing to show but a pile of unfinished work that was either saved for the weekend, or right before class, which is even worse. Why not use your time efficiently and end your days on a great note!
2. You'll fit time in for yourself.
Your daily routine most certainly should include "me-time". If you can find some time to continue or start reading a book of choice, or to just paint your nails, trust me you'll feel a lot more relaxed. There's something extra special about not having a day full of just business or school.
3. Get to the gym!
Penciling in a routine gym time is so important. I know a lot of us complain about how much we need to go to the gym but we don't have any time or motivation. Well, take the time to figure out how often you want to fit it in and go! Even if you've only got an hour, it's enough time to at least unwind and melt away some stress.
4. You'll never sleep away your meals again.
How many times have you valued a silly nap over food? I cant count how many times I regretted not stopping at the cafe before going home. Sometimes that would mean that I only got to eat once before everything closed down. It's a really good idea to make routine meal dates, or just go by yourself!
5. You'll meet more people, if you're into to that.
Having a daily routine usually means you'll be at the same places at the same time everyday, along with others who may be doing that same. If you need friends, there you go. Introduce yourself because you'll probably be seeing a lot of each other from now on!
Think about all of these benefits! A routine isn't for everyone but if you haven't tried it I would recommend it, It's certainly helped me.
