In today's society, we are bombarded with celebrities in the media who try and live perfect, effortless lives. Everything they wear is impeccable, and every word they say is scripted to perfection. For many celebrities, being in the spotlight for so long starts to change their character and personality. Many conform to the expectations of being famous and forget who they are.

One woman however, is known to stay true to herself, her work, and still knows how to have fun doing the job she loves, Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer is one of the only actresses in Hollywood that I see stayed true to her funny and sarcastic personality. She isn't afraid to make a fool of herself on the red carpet and doesn't get embarrassed to be herself. She goes after what she wants and is truly fearless. Jennifer Lawrence is without a doubt, a phenomenal role model for so many women.

Where's the food?

One of the only actresses I’ve seen who talks about french fries and potatoes and unhealthy food so much; she isn’t afraid to eat like a normal human, and who doesn't love that! So many young girls are afraid of how their body looks or what they eat, and Jennifer could care less; everyone should have that mentality.

Wise words of JLaw:

"And I'm like, I can think of a lot of things that tastes better than skinny feels. Potatoes! Bread!"

Stay True

My favorite thing about Jen is the fact that Hollywood hasn’t changed her. She is true to herself and maintains her sarcastic, happy, honest, and big personality. She isn't afraid to act silly on camera and isn't scared of being honest in interviews. To Jennifer, there's no point in candy coating every word—just be normal and have fun. It's refreshing to see an actress truly enjoy herself and her job and one whose ego remains in check.

Wise Words of JLaw:

"Everybody’s like, ‘How can you remain with a level head?’ And I’m like, ‘Why would I ever get cocky? I’m not saving anybody’s life. There are doctors who save lives and firemen who run into burning buildings. I'm just making movies.”

Hollywood Equality

In a recent interview, Jennifer Lawrence spoke out against the wage gap in Hollywood between male and female actors. After the release of "American Hustle," she had found out she was paid significantly less then her male co-stars, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, and Jeremy Renner. The men all made nine percent of the movie's profits, while Jennifer and her other female costar Amy Adams made only seven percent. But, instead of getting mad at the producers, Jennifer was mad at herself. She claimed she failed as a negotiator, and wants women to remember that they shouldn't be nice and cute all the time, demand what you want and go for it.

Wise words of JLaw:

"I'm over trying to find the 'adorable' way to state my opinion and still be likable!"

Fearless

Most of the world knows her as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Game series, however, since her big debut, she has been cast in much more meaningful and advanced roles. Jennifer has been in "American Hustle," "Silver Lining's Playbook" and so many more award-winning movies. She has won one Academy Award, two Golden Globes, and two SAG awards. Jennifer is fearless and driven to be successful in her acting career; if she wants a role, she'll do whatever it takes.

Wise words of JLaw:

"Even as far back as when I started acting at 14, I know I’ve never considered failure”

From all the inspired women out there, thank you, Jennifer for being the perfect role model

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
