Over fall break I took a road trip to Pittsburgh with some friends and found that road trip games can go a long way toward keeping you sane.

  1. Road Sign Alphabet: Find all the letters of the alphabet in order by just looking at road signs. Sounds easy enough, but wait till you get to Q.
  2. 20 Questions: You know the drill. Infuriate your friends by being the small-time actor that nobody knows about.
  3. Count the Roadkill: Pretty self-explanatory.
  4. Zitch dog!: For every those "How I Met Your Mother" fans out there, every time you see a dog, yell Zitch dog! And then you get a point.
  5. Punch Buggy: You should always be playing this. Always.
  6. Red car: Five points for every red car. To make it more exciting, 50 points for every blimp. If the blimp is red, you win.
  7. Alphabet Chain Restaurant: Try to come up with a chain restaurant that starts with every letter of the alphabet in order. This could work with other things, like hotels and gas stations.
  8. Pop Challenge: Listen to a pop music station. Everyone chooses one song and whoever’s song has played the most by the end of the trip wins.
  9. I Spy: A classic.
  10. The Quiet Game: I’m putting this on here for the nostalgia. Do not let yourself get roped into this game. Do not.
  11. State License Plates: Try to find all fifty states on the license plates of cars along the way.
  12. Padiddle: For night driving--if a car drives past you with only one headlight, yell “Padiddle!” and hit the ceiling.
  13. The Death Challenge: Hold your breath between graveyards.

You can, of course, modify any of these. We didn't want to listen to a radio station for several hours for the pop challenge, so we put the same ten songs on shuffle on someone's ipod and got points for how many times our own popped up. These have my personal seal of approval because I played every single one of these games on this trip. Except that last one.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
