CAUTION: POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT!
Riverdale is a T.V Series that is based on the characters that appear in the well-known Archie Comics. It was developed Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, an American playwright, screenwriter and Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics.
On December 13th, 2017, Chapter Twenty-Two titled Silent Night, Deadly Night, made its debut on The CW, the shows network. With its Christmassy Title, Chapter Twenty-Two was Season Two’s Mid-Season Finale.
Having the opportunity to finally catch up on Season 2, here are:
3 Things I Learned About Riverdale’s Mid-Season Finale.
3. Officer Sheriff Keller FINALLY Did His Job...
There is no “change in time” when Season One concludes. In fact, Season Two picks up right where Season One left off at: someone getting shot and a killer on the loose. However, through the episodes leading up to the Mid-Season Finale, it seemed Officer Sheriff Keller paid very little attention to who committed all the violent acts leading up to the Mid-Season Finale and whatthe motive was behind all of the drama and murder. It’s no wonder why Betty Cooper, one of the main characters, believed that it was Officer Sheriff Keller behind the black mask. Though we learn that this theory is exactly just that - a theory - it made sense. After all, he wasn’t the one putting himself in danger, entering a potentially haunted home and picking up phone calls from the, back then, anonymous Black Hood.
However, as seen in Chapter Twenty-Two, Officer Sheriff Keller finally came face-to-face with the Black Hood himself... Well, at least thanks to Betty Cooper and Archie Andrews. Nonetheless, he did his job. He stopped the Black Hood… For now, anyway…
2. There's A Love Triangle...
Chapter Twenty-One, House of the Devil, concluded with two major break-ups: Varchie, AKA Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge, and Bughead, AKA Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper. Though it is the Holiday Season in Riverdale (Chapter Twenty-Two), one would only hope that Varchie and Bughead somehow all reconcile with one another. However, with the Black Hood still on the loose, the girl-next-door, AKA Betty Cooper, reconciles with the boy-next-door, AKA Archie Andrews. Together, the two are on a mission: to stop the Black Hood once and for all. In the midst of it all, however, Barchie (Archie and Betty), share a kiss, breaking the hearts of all Varchie and Bughead stans.
Don’t “kiss and tell” though, right? .. Well, that seems to be an issue when, towards the end of Chapter Twenty-Two, Varchie share a smooch under a mistletoe. Will Barchie tell Varchie about their little kiss? Or will the two keep it a secret amongst themselves? I, for one, cannot wait to see this Love Triangle play out when Season 2 returns on January 17th, 2018!
1. The Black Hood Story Isn't Over...
Sure, Betty and Archie discovered who the Black Hood was and, in a way, why he had been committing all those crimes, but the story cannot be over. We’ve still got half a season left to watch.
…. Besides, why else would Betty Cooper throw away all the memories she had stored from the Black Hood and keep the one thing that truly symbolizes the Black Hood? - A Black Mask/Hood ..
I guess Jughead Jones said it best when he said, “Riverdale was still, at its heart, a haunted town…”Perhaps, no matter what, it will always be.
