Rising Star, Falyn Vega, To Launch Single At Madison Square Garden

As we transition from the summer months to the crisp chill of Fall, September is the month to remember. In observance of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Royal C Pop, an artist management, production, and publishing company is proud to present Falyn Vega, a 17- year-old aspiring singer. With performances like singing at "Let It Go" at Radio City Hall under her belt, her story has only just begun. Falyn is here to shine, sing, and share her story as a Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor. As the face of the ‘I Am’ campaign, Falyn will perform an original song ‘I Am A Free Bird’ during the kick off event at Madison Square Garden on September 13.

“I was really excited when A Free Bird reached out to me for the “I Am” campaign,” said Falyn Vega. “I always feel really great about helping other kids in need.”

It has been a powerful 3 years of remission for Falyn and if you’re wondering where she found the strength, music and the arts are among the top of the list. She was able to find freedom from a life-threatening disease through the powers of art and she is going to take us on an amazing and inspiring journey throughout this campaign.

The process in itself has been more than exciting as collaborations were put into place to create a brilliant work of art. Royal C Pop has been working closely with A Free Bird Organization, a non-profit that provides magical opportunities in the arts for children ages 4-18 as they face their own fight against cancer. “I Am A Free Bird” is an original piece written by Godni Amir, president and founder of both A Free Bird Organization and Royal C Pop.

“We, at Royal C Pop, are committed to supporting this community of artists that has fought life-threatening illnesses,” said Godni, founder of Royal C Pop. “Our artists will be spreading their personal messages, raising awareness for childhood cancer, and healing through their creative processes.”

The collaboration also includes song production by Sony music producer Synematik, ensemble vocalists Corey Chorus and Kim Viera, who have worked with artists including Rihanna, Demi Lovato, and Lil Wayne, and was mixed and mastered by Ross Petersen, who has also worked with Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, and the Backstreet Boys.

It doesn’t stop there, during the ‘I Am’ campaign, we will all be encouraged to participate by sharing our idea of what it means to be “A Free Bird”. With the help of social media, we will show the unique and creative ways that allow us to express ourselves while also promoting happiness and empowerment in our global community.

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
