Fellow swimsuit addicts, I regret to inform you that various news reports have speculated the worst. Victoria's Secret is going to discontinue their swimsuit line next year. *Sheds Tear*
From what I have gathered, the founder and CEO of L Brands, Leslie Wexner, announced a change in VS's offerings. Because swimsuit sales were not as high as expected, the company will sadly be cutting us off to focus on their core merch categories (VS beauty, lingerie, and PINK).
According to Buzzfeed News, L brands said last year that swimwear was a roughly $500 million business, or 6.5 percent of sales at Victoria's Secret. I don't know about you, but that still sounds pretty good to me! I wish it didn't have to be like this, but in the inevitable possibility that VS will no longer sell their cute patterns and confidence-boosting styles, here are X other paces you can get the perfect poolside attire!
1. ($) Target
You may be saying, Target? That's no Victoria's Secret. And while that may be true, unless you've been living under a rock Target offers swimsuit styles that not only keep up with the trends, but are actually affordable! They sell Triangl knockoffs (like the one above), as well as push up tops that look similar to VS's style, but with a smaller price tag.
2. ($) Forever 21
Forever 21 may not have the quality of Victoria Secret, but you can't feel too bad for the price tag. A solid colored triangle top at VS might cost $15-$20, but F21 sells them for a deal of $4.90! Two summers ago I bought five different colors and am not even ashamed. Forever 21 is also selling Triangl knockoffs for about $15! They may not feel the same, but we all know the only thing that matters is the way it looks.
3. ($$) Pacsun
I'm obsessed with Pacsun's offerings. I just want all of their swim suits! They have the cutest patterns that are perfect for tanning, or unique styles to wear to those summer concerts!
4. ($$) Etsy
There are some talented people out there on Etsy. You can get handmade bikinis for a decent price! Some of the most popular products are the high demanded "cheeky bottoms." Check some out at this store, or click the photo for a cute shell mermaid top!
5. ($$-$$$) Nordstrom
Leave it to Nordy's to have everything you'll ever need. They offer a wide range of suits, from edgy one pieces, to trendy bikinis!
6. ($$$) Stone Fox
Stone Fox offers the latest patterns and trends that you see on all the hottest Insta models and Tumblr posts. They may be pricey, but will surely up your insta game at least.
7. ($$-$$$) Everything But Water
Everything But Water carries a variety of swimwear. One of my favorites that they carry are Maaji swim suits! Not do they offer unique styles and patterns, but most of their pieces are reversible! They offer so many cute suits, you won't even miss the VS line!
8. ($$$) L*Space
I had never heard of L*Space before I saw a few cute pieces on Mazarine Aqua's insta account. The prices may be on the splurge side, but totally worth it. I bought one of their wrap tops for Spring Break and it's now one of my favorite bikini tops!
While these are just a few, there are plenty other swimsuit lines that are probably just as affordable and as cute as our beloved Victoria's Secret line.Try Pinterest or Instagram to fill the void next year and if you know of any, let me know in the comments! Although it is said that PINK will be keeping its swimwear line, my 21 year old self feels as if I need to stop shopping there. With all that being said, keep calm and shop on!
