Ever since their debut, Kylie Jenner Lip Kits have been a buzz that seems to never die, what with all the constant incidents and new additions to her collection. Many will go on to say they are one of the worst or most basic products they have ever tried as well as having gone through such a hassle just to get one. Others will rave about how amazing the product is and say it's worth the process. For this product, I fall into the "others" category.
I have been a big fan of Kylie Lip Kits for some time. While I do agree with the majority of people on how the product is a bit overpriced, I believe that the quality of the products I have received was worth the extra dollars. Since its original release, the formula of the lipstick has improved a great amount. A liquid lipstick that was once very drying from the second it was fully applied was turned into a lipstick that applies smoothly, easily, and takes hours to begin to feel a little dry. Another perk of this product is how incredibly pigmented the formula is. Many lipsticks need several swipes across your lip before you can distinguish its color. In just about two or three swipes (depending on your lip size), your pout will show off a rich and distinct color.
There has been a lot of talk comparing Kylie Lip Kits to Colourpop lipsticks since the similarities between the products became easily identifiable. Rumors that the two products were made by the same company raised havoc. For anyone who is still unaware, the rumors are true. Kylie Cosmetics are indeed made in the same factory as Colourpop Cosmetics, which is why many of the products have a similar style and quality. A common reaction to this truth is the confusion as to why Colourpop's products are more affordable than Kylie's. The reasoning behind this is most likely due to the name behind it. Though it seems ridiculous to even pay about three to four times as much for a Kylie Lip Kit than for a Colourpop lipstick, I have done so many times because of Kylie's distinct colors that Colourpop has not carried.
In my opinion, it is worth the splurge every now and then to treat yourself to a Kylie Lip Kit. These days, she even sells her lipsticks separately from the matching lip liner so that you can buy the product you would prefer to use and pay less for it ($17 for a Matte Single or $14 for the Matte Lip Liner as opposed to $29 for the full lip kit). Give the product a try and decide for yourself if it's a good product for you.
