1. Drink more water

Drinking more water will help you stay hydrated and overall more healthy. Your skin and body will thank you by next December!

2.Read more books

Reading books will overall expand your vocabulary and is tons of fun!

3.Commit to school

Start the year off strong with good grades! Commit to your school work and make an effort to get better grades in 2019.

4. Travel more

Make a point in 2019 to travel more. Go somewhere you have never been, whether it be out of the country, to just to a neighboring state!

Try to go to bed an hour earlier than you normally would this year!

6. Start saving money

Throughout the year try putting up every $5 bill you get. By the end of the year you will be surprised with how much you accumulate!

7. Learn a new language

This year make a resolution to become a pet owner! This one is more of a long term commitment but if you're up for it then its a great thing to do!

Taking a break from social media to start the new year can be cleansing! A lot of people choose to do this and end up spending less time overall on these apps throughout the year.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
