The end of the fall semester is near and it cannot come soon enough. With the understatement of the year, I am exhausted. I haven't slept in two days, my skin is blotchy and red, my hair's falling out, my workout routine has been put on an indefinite hold until I can find my motivation...
College really doesn't seem as bright as it once did.
I've hit that point that every student approaches around this time where I'm wondering if school is even worth it. I'm out of money, out of patience, and, truthfully, out of motivation.
I've been assured this is normal and that this is the time where a lot of students find out if college is really for them. Your first semester of your freshman year is really the "sink or swim" point. You either make it or you don't. I am stressed, I am tired, and I am overwhelmed but I am nowhere near done. You aren't either.
Here is your quick reminder from a stranger going through the same thing that it's worth it:
Life without a college degree is harder than anything you are facing now. The world we live is so fast paced. Our society and culture place so much stress and importance of a higher education. Not having a degree of some sort puts you at such a disadvantage. You've made it this far. Keep going!
Finals suck, money is short, and being an adult isn't all it's cracked up to be. Yep! I know. But life is just beginning and there will be more good days than there are bad. There are people all over the world who would give their lives for an education of any kind. No matter where you are, what you're doing, remember that. Education is not a right to all and it is your job to make the best out of the moment you're in.
You are at the finish line. Keep running!
