12 Relient K Songs For College Survival

Relient K is a rock band from Ohio who got their start in the late 90s. They're known for their Christian roots and their odd lyrical poetry (if that is a thing). They are known to have great songs about life, pain, and change, but also goofy songs that can get anyone up on their feet or giggling.

In college, life is one big roller coaster of ups and downs. There are times you need a laugh, there are times where you need to reminiscence, and there are times you need to be reminded of the one above who loves you for who you are - not that grade you got. Relient K is the band who can do that for you. So enjoy this mini Relient K playlist to get you through these times.

1. "High of 75"

From their mmhmm album, this song is all about how the weather has been bipolar and so have you. This is for the times in college where the highs and lows are extreme and there seems to be no in-between. Relient K perfectly captures this feeling in this song.

2. "Devestation and Reform"

This song is for those days where you feel like you just cannot get it right and you keep making the wrong decisions. It's a good jam to get the aggression and frustration that comes with this life situations released.

3. "Crayons Can Melt Us All For All I Care"

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Matthew_Hoopes_performing_with_Relient_K_in_2008.jpg

For the times where you wasted your time in procrastination.

4. "I Need You"

Sometimes we get in over our heads by either overestimating how easy something will be. In these times, we can get nervous, anxious, and not with it. This song is all about needing God to bring it all back together and how he is who to focus on when we feel insecure.

5. "Bite My Tongue"

You know those times where you are just in the midst of conversation and you just let things slip out or come out unfiltered? Things typically end up not so great afterward, huh? This can happen in simply speaking out in class, in conversation with friends, co-workers, or even professors. This song is all about maintaining that tongue.

6. "Therapy"

This song is just a reminder to take a break and give yourself some space from all the stress and the madness. And sometimes, we just need to sit and pray.

7. "Sadie Hawkins Dance"

Though colleges don't do Sadie Hawkins, this is a good song to listen to when reminiscing about the good ol', cringey high-school days.

8. "Mood Rings"

This is a silly song all about how people can be moody and it's hard to read how exactly someone is feeling. In college, you meet people from different backgrounds, different majors, and different moods.

9. "Trademark"

In college, you learn a lot about yourself and you also grow a lot. But sometimes, old habits die hard.

10. "Gibberish"

After spending six hours studying, everything probably feels like this.

11. "Air For Free"

This is a good song for the times when you just need rest and you can't get it.

12. "College Kids"

Just listen to it. Trust me. You need a good laugh.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
