There are times during the college semester where you only have time to study and do homework. Especially if you have around eighteen credit hours, you have to plan ahead if you expect time to hang out with friends away from home. While studying isn't necessarily always boring, it is always good to take a quick break every now and then. For students in the millennial generation, a great deal of these short breaks are filled with cute cat videos, funny talk show clips, and rants from our favorite YouTubers. From the vlogbrothers, consisting of John and Hank Green, to nigahiga which consists of Ryan Higa and friends, any dose of humor or life advice we can get is crucial to a twenty-something year old with a lot on their plate. A lot of YouTuber personalities are so credible and relatable because, shockingly, they are real people, too. This is a list of times we can all relate.
1. When you don't study enough for a test, as told by Lilly Singh.
Lilly Singh, also known as Superwoman, is iconic for dishing out funny and relatable videos, along with life advice. She collaborates often with close friend Connor Franta, which is an added bonus because they make the best videos together.
2. When you try to make jokes to distract yourself from the trouble you're in.
This is from Ryan Higa's channel nigahiga, which is full of hilarious videos. Bad puns and silly instructional videos are his main thing and the exclamation TEEHEE! graces every one of them.
3. When your favorite character in a book or television series always dies.
This is extremely fitting because John Green is an author. Before he was known as the author of "The Fault In Our Stars," he began a sort of back and forth with his brother Hank. These videos originally started as a way for the brothers to keep in touch weekly, but vlogbrothers turned into something so much more. Not only do they use an epic amount of nerdy dad humor, but they talk about current and serious events on a philosophical and deep level. They even involve their families in their vlog.
4. When you attempt arts and crafts.
Nate from NateWantsToBattle, portrayed in this gif on the left wearing a....hat(?) is known for his avid knowledge of gaming and his anime and video game song covers. On top of that, he writes his own original songs based off of his favorite games and animated shows.
5. When you need to unleash your inner nerd/ geek.
Jenna Marbles is great at being goofy and uses her dogs as props. Some of her content can go a little too far or make you question her sanity, but her videos are some of the best for a laugh.
6. When you laugh about the smallest things.
Ian and Anthony's Smosh channel is the epitome of childish humor. Their celebrity prank interviews are a good place to start. (My personal favorite is the one with Tom Hiddleston.)
7. When you stayed up until dawn because you're an adult and decide your own bed time.
Toby Turner, also known as TOBUSCUS, shares video game play-throughs and literal trailers for games and movies galore. Like Smosh, his channel is a lot on the immature side, but that's what makes him funny. His dog Gryphon is also an added bonus.
8. When eating pizza is your favorite past time. Connor Franta, like so many other young Youtube personalities, became famous by dishing out life advice and telling other young people about he relates to their everyday lives in a humorous way. Connor Franta is that gay friend that everyone wants to have and take advice from. Not to mention that he is just utterly adorable.
