7 Odd But Relatable Things We Have All Done

Been there, done that.

It's pretty funny how many things we all do without even taking notice. Although we like to believe we are all unique and different than the person next to us, some of our actions beg to differ.

1. Spun in circles tracing over the lines of your carpet until you were nauseous while talking on the phone

Really, though, how many times have you been forced to call a distant relative that lives in Guatemala that you've never met, yet you have to give a birthday call? Or even just a close relative that you end up talking on the phone with for basically an eternity because of the amount of questions they ask, "How's school, In my days we used to have.....do you guys still have that?Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend?" So there you are, answering question upon question, singing happy birthday to a stranger, and without even noticing, spinning in circles, ovals, rectangles, triangles, whatever shape it is, only to realize you're so dizzy you're about to fall over.

2. Day dreamed in class and thought about something embarrassing, or unpleasantly gross and prayed no one in the room can read minds

"When was the last time I washed my sheets?"
"Did I even brush my teeth this morning?"
"I'm almost positive I haven't showered since Thursday... it's Monday."
And of course the typical daydream about your professor and what they're like outside of the college premise, I won't even go into the kind of thoughts about that.

3. Recorded yourself singing and expected to sound like the next winner of "The Voice," only to realize you sound like a cat caught in a vacuum cleaner

"I mean like, I know I'm not the next Celine Dion, but that note sounded pretty good to me." *Clicks Photo Booth* "Let me just record myself, I sound really good singing this song right now." *Listens to recording* "DO I ACTUALLY SOUND LIKE THAT?? I'm never singing again."

4. Getting irrationally angry at someone for not answering your text and then 3 hours later discover it was actually you who never answered

"How could someone be so rude, like we just started texting, I'm not even being needy, whatever they don't even deserve me, their loss." *Obsessively checks phone* "What did i even say that he/she wouldn't answer?" *Checks conversation* "I HATE MYSELF."

5. Leaving your headphones in for an extended period of time only to realize your music stopped playing 45 minutes ago

Not really sure how I manage to do this on the daily, but I never fail to amaze myself. On the plus side, no one can outwardly see the stupidity!

6. Seeing a screaming child throwing a tantrum about their broken lollipop and wonder why your mom even went through the trouble of birthing you

Nothing like a screaming child to put life in perspective. "Did I pull that shit? Honestly mom, I'm sorry. You deserve the world!!!! By the way can I have 20 bucks?"

7. Start thinking about the Universe, wondering what a human is and why you haven't been living on Mars since day 1

It's that time of night again, thinking about all the things that went wrong in your life, where you come from, if aliens are real, why birds can fly but you can't, etc. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME, can I just sleep now.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
