Rejoicing Is Always The Right Thing To Do

Sometimes we forget that we are to rejoice God during all seasons of our lives: good, bad, and everything in between.

It's pretty well known that as you continue to walk through life, you encounter good seasons and bad seasons.

However, one thing that you may not know is that we are to praise God in all seasons of our lives. Even the seasons in which we resent God and it's hard to praise Him.

You may be thinking that I'm spitting some spoon fed Sunday School answer out for you all to read, but that's not the case.
As my walk with the Lord has continued to grow through the many different seasons in my life, I have learned for myself I need to praise Him and be thankful in all seasons, and that when the hard times do surface, God isn't asking that we be thankful because these things are happening, but instead that we be thankful in face of them.

It's easy to praise God when everything is going right.
When you're happy, school's going well, you've got your friends by your side, you got the job that you wanted, you have the girl/boyfriend of your dreams, it's easy to thank God for all of these things.

But when you're in those mountain high seasons, know that a valley low is ahead because that's just how it goes.

We live in an imperfect, sin fallen world, so we can't expect things to be perfect all the time, no matter how badly we want them to be.

So when the hard times come and you don't get accepted into your dream school, you get fired from your job, your friends move away, your girl/boyfriend dumps you, this is when it gets really hard to thank God and praise Him.

It's hard thing to walk through when those moments come.
It's easy for us to blame God or turn to worldly things to try to take the pain away or to fill that void.
But, we forget that we weren't made for this world.
Even though It can feel like our world is spinning completely out of control, God is in complete control.

Every difficult season that you go through is an opportunity for God to shape and mold you because the greatest temptation during those hard times is for our faith to sway.

We need to root ourselves so deeply in Him and get in the habit of rejoicing and praising Him in all seasons so that when the bad seasons do come that we will not stray from Him but instead will cling to Him and the promises of His Word.
This way, we will be prepared the best way that we know how to for the trials that we will face.

We don't need to just turn to Him during the difficult times, but instead make sure that we never turn away in the first place.

So, get in the habit of walking, talking, praising, loving, and worshiping God in all seasons of your life because His plan is greater.
Know that you are so deeply loved and that you are not alone no matter how lonely you feel.
He will never leave you or forsake you. He won't leave you high and dry during those hard seasons.
Know that His plan is greater than anything you could possibly dream of and that His will and purpose for you is perfect.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
