Like a good deli, senior year has it all - expectations, disappointments, complicated friendships and twenty-page papers.
If you are dreading leaving, or already planning your departure from college, you are not alone. Michael Scott gets it. Here are some of the highs and lows of senior year.
1. When it starts.
The first few days are great. Maybe you are looking forward to graduating and nabbing your dream job or spending as much time with your friends as possible. Either way, that first week is pretty friendly.
2. When you realize 300 level classes really are harder.
You really start asking yourself "why" after that first week. The workload has grown, your classes are more challenging, and your professors have higher expectations. Don't worry, though, the semester isn't THAT long, right?
3. When getting to know your professors is actually a good thing.
You might not be besties with your professors, but you actually have something to talk about when you bump into each other in the hallway. Or maybe you are besties, I don't know.
4. When your advisor tells you you're missing one credit.
While it is annoying to get every semester, avoiding your advisor for three or four years can have its drawbacks. Sometimes you can still make it out on time...
5. Finals have a whole new meaning.
Thankfully, it is the last semester, because everything you've learned is either really coming together or totally disappearing. Either way, you'll be graduating in a few weeks and it will all be over!
6. When you start applying for jobs... or grad school.
It might seem daunting at first, but you got this. Just think of how much you've accomplished over the past few years. Now you can capitalize on your greatness!
7. When you consider your social life.
The days of frat parties might be over, but adults still have fun. Just look at how happy Michael Scott is.
8. When everything makes you nostalgic.
Campus food that used to repulse you, tiny desks, and football games. Suddenly, you don't want to leave it behind. Okay, maybe the tiny desks.
9. When you realize graduation = loan payments.
Thank you realize that bankruptcy can't save you... but budgeting can! Thankfully there are a hundred apps for that.
10. Graduation!!
It might not have been easy, but you did it! You worked hard, and now its time to celebrate!
