This article is being written in light of the recent uproar of this latest election. Determining a new president has traditionally held strong controversy around candidates. However, I feel that this particular election has been centered about a brutally, discerning core of slander and insults. Nevertheless, this article is not about the harsh, drug out election season. Instead, I would prefer to focus on results how it will impact the future of our great nation.

The evening of Tuesday, November 8, 2016, had brought a tremendous shock as the votes tallied in Mr. Trump’s favor, effectively earning him the title of the most powerful man in the world. Although he had managed to receive a victory, it was not one by any landslide. Only by the grace of our electoral system was he able to secure such a position. Winston Churchill once said, “When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.” We must not make enemies out of our fellow Americans for their opposition to our political views nor must we view the head of our nation as an enemy of the people.

In every reality, the next president of the United States of America will be Donald Trump. This is more than just a statement; it is a fact. One, I might add, that even research will fail to discredit. With that in mind, we as a nation must find a way to stand in unity as we make great strides towards progress. It means we must abolish the overwhelming slander plaguing the political landscape. It is time to set aside our political preferences to build a platform of peace and prosperity.

To those who concern of the safety of the minority communities, I have the utmost confidence that there will be no unjust prosecution. Know that an overwhelming number of fellow Americans stand at your side defending your every right. We will have no toleration for the degrading of women. We shall work tirelessly to secure higher equality to the communities of African Americans. The value of the lives of LGBQT will not be depreciated. We will strengthen the immigration system to a level which holds human rights of all immigrants to the fundamental principle our nation was founded upon. We will support the promised right of religion that our Muslim Americans hold dear. We will stand together as one nation in the face of justice, leaving behind all racial, gender, and religious divides. To those who fear for the future of our country, I ask that you take a leap of faith not into arms of the future president, but rather people of America.

Mr. Trump will be our forty-sixth president, doubting this will bring about no change. It is a job I can only hope he will take with a higher standard of ethics and professionalism than we have seen thus far. With much sincerity, I courageously hope that each day in office my strong opposition will be proven wrong. Mr. Trump, I do not beg for your failure, instead, I look for your success. Though I continue to differ from both the political and moral views of our new president I will console in giving him my support in the shared interest of the betterment of our nation. I have high faith that the actions of Mr. Trump will not go unchecked by the people of this nation. Never forget that our civil responsibility is to trust in our nation; to show the highest dedication of patriotism. May we find comfort in serving our nation to the best of these election results.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
