10 Reasons You're Too Blessed To Be Stressed About Finals

The semester is winding down and coming to an end, but for many of us the stress is far from over. Fortunately, it's not all bad news.

1. Solidarity

Misery loves company! There is something so comforting about knowing you're not alone and that the entire university community is dying a slow, painful death together.

2. Winter Break Is Just Around The Corner

It's only a matter of days until you can be reunited with your couch, a warm blanket and that Netflix series you need to finish binge-watching.

3. Future Prospects

The ends will justify the means. Use a little utilitarian philosophy to remind yourself that the hard work you're putting in now is bringing you another step closer to the career of your dreams AND a real life, grown-up salary!

4. The Dramatic Twitter Sagas

Not only is everyone around you dying from stress, but they're also all tweeting about it. Amidst your procrastination, you have the opportunity to divert from your own stress and turn to Twitter, where you're bound to find your peers using their 140 characters to either laugh or cry at their current struggle.

5. The Hilariously Relatable Memes

And of course with all of those tweets, there also comes the inundation of memes that are just SO representative of where you're currently at in life.

6. The Overtired High

Avoid the health and legal risks of drugs and achieve the same results by simply combining minimal hours of sleep, an absurd amount of deadlines and three venti iced coffees. Which brings me to my next point...

7. Coffee

At this point you've probably started to consider your caffeine addiction problematic. Maybe your friends have even expressed concern (and/or disgust), but finals week is a judgement free time. You're not only allowed to drink as much coffee as you desire, but also encouraged to!

8. MORE COFFEE

I'm serious. And you probably need a refill right now.

9. Support System: Confirmed

Like Marilyn (and about another billion girls on social media) said, "...if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." Finals week certainly brings out the worst in people, but it also allows us to see who our true friends are.

So take a moment to thank those pals that stick by your side and cheer you on when you're cracked out on coffee with unwashed hair, complaining about a group project for the zillionth time that week – and are also ready to celebrate with you when it's all over!

10. Less Than 10 Percent Of The World's Population Receives A College Degree

Lastly, the stress of finals is a small price to pay for the incredible opportunity you have. A 2010 Harvard study shows that only 6.7 percent of the entire world's population has a college degree. As students, it is easy to get caught up in the college bubble, but we must remember that we are a part of a very fortunate minority. Take a break from some of the stress this finals week, and allow yourself to feel humbled instead.

You really are too blessed to be stressed after all!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
