10 Reasons You Might Be A "Closet Cat Person"

You might not like cats, but do you relate to them?

10 Reasons You Might Be A "Closet Cat Person"

1. You Have RBF

Ah yes, the “resting bitch face”. A lot of women have it, and even some men, but ALL cats have it. Cats just always look like they’re in a pissy mood.

2. You Don’t Like Being Bossed Around

Cats really don’t like being told what to do. Most times they will do exactly what you told them not to do, but they just seem to enjoy it more.

3. You L-O-V-E Sleep

Cats sleep the day away. Literally a cat sleeps like 16 to 20 hours a day. Oh man, what a wonderful life a cat lives.

4. You Like Affection, But Only On Your Own Terms

Cats love to be loved…but as soon as they’re “over it” you will know. They get a little bitey, hissey, and rude. Hmm...I know some people like that.

5. You Like Shiny Things

Cats are drawn to shiny things, kinda like birds. A cat will sit and stare at a shiny object for a lengthy amount of time and they also seem to like shiny toys better. My kitten loves to play with these shiny little foil-like toy balls that are really shiny.

6. You’re Always On Your Own Time

A cat can never be rushed. They operate on their own schedule with no apologies, even if it inconveniences someone. They have a “stick it to the man” attitude when it comes to time.

7. You’re The Best At Irritating People And You Take Pride In It

Cats seem to do things to intentionally irritate people. For example, if somehow a cat finds out that you don’t really like them, then that’s all they need to know in order to want to be your best friend. You will find them on your lap, at your feet, or basically anywhere you are.

8. You’re Adorable When You’re Angry

Even when a cat is ridiculously angry, like hair-standing-up angry, they’re super cute. They pull off angry with style.

9. You’re Independent

Cats seem to be convinced that they don’t need humans. Basically, they could just take care of themselves without any help from you or anyone else. They like to do things on their own.

10. You Go After What You Want

Whether it’s chasing after a toy, playing with your shoelace, or jumping onto the table, you can always rely on a cat to do exactly, and only, what it wants.

So, if you relate to most of these, then you are most definitely a “closet cat person”. There’s no shame in it, cats are adorable.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
