As males, there are some things we can’t vent to your boys about. It’s just hard to show them the soft side that every one of us has on the inside. That’s where female friends come into play.
1. She will give you “the shake” or “the nod”
As men, the first sight of a woman is key. Once we see a female we believe is attractive in our eyes, we tend to follow her for a few seconds. After, we tend to look at the person who we are with, and if it’s your female best friend, she noticed you look. She’ll either give you “the shake” or “the nod." She knows your type, she knows what you like based off of what you have told her before, so listen to her!
2. She’ll embarrass you more than anyone has ever before in public or via social media
She’ll never miss a photo-op. It’s like she knows when you’re about to do or say something stupid, and she’ll catch you every time. But you’ll get your time for payback—like right now!
When you go out together, she makes sure everyone knows that she is there. All eyes go to you because you’re the one walking next to her, not saying a word. She’ll be the one standing on the table in heels, kicking everyone out of the party when it’s time to go, and everyone will be looking for you to take her with you.
3. When the song “Best Friend” by Young Thug comes on, she will find you
We all know the song, and we all know someone who screams their heart out when it comes on. Well, I guarantee no matter where you’re at, what time it is or what is going on around you, she will make you laugh by singing this song all up in your personal space.
4. She makes it look like you’re on a diet when you’re eating together
For some reason, she doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her eating habits when she’s around you. You thought no one was able to out eat you, right? Wrong, because she will, and then she will brag about it. You’re completely fine with it, though, because it makes it look like you’re watching your figure.
5. Friends who slay together stay together
She makes sure you’re always dressed for the occasion. She may even pick out your entire outfit. Except the shoes. We can handle the shoes. She probably has to approve of everything else before you go out with her. The best is when you have to dapper up with your best friend, then she makes you look like you’re the sexiest thing walking!
6. She’ll complain to you about all the guys in her life and you’ll listen
Why will you listen? Because you finally realize why girls say all guys are dogs. She’ll make you feel like you’re her actual big brother and protect her from all the guys out there.
7. She’s got the snacks, you got the Netflix
Some days, diets don’t matter. You both will have those days where you don’t want to do anything, and you both will know when that day comes. So you put a movie on, any movie, and one of you will order the pizza after you try to figure out who paid for it last time.
8. You can count on her to be there at 3 a.m.
Yes, she’ll be there at any time of the day for any stupid reason. Only because she knows she’s going to need you that late much more often than you’ll need her.
9. She’ll tell you when you’re out of line
Yes, men get extremely reckless at times. Especially with our words. We say some things we don’t mean, and she knows that. We can always count on her to give us that look, or that text telling us that we’ve gone too far or that we’re out of line. Which will end up saving our butts somewhere down the line.
10. She’ll be your No. 1 fan if you need one
Usually, your No. 1 fans are your family members or your significant other. However, she’ll be right there with the best of them screaming her heart out. Possibly embarrassing you, but what else would you expect? That’s your best friend.
11. The love-hate relationship is great
You have many things you hate about each other, and you remind each other about that every day. However, you wouldn’t change a thing about each other because then your friendship wouldn’t be as crazy and adventurous as it is now. At the end of the day, you have unconditional love for each other no matter what. That’s why you’re best friends.
12. What would you do without her? Honestly.
She brings your true colors out and makes your life as interesting as can be. Without her, you’d be trapped inside of your body. So be thankful for her day in and day out, and cherish all of the moments you can with her. Remember, if you ever truly make her mad, go grab a large pizza, some beer and a gift card to Victoria's Secret. She’ll thank you, kick you out and the next day she’ll act like nothing ever happened.
At the end of the day, I have a lot of female friends, but I'm lucky enough to call only a few of them my best friends.
