Everyone fails, and at some point everyone succeeds. It just matters how you take it and how you grow with it.
1. Sometimes it's the only way to get to your final decision

Especially in college, a lot of people don't stick with the first major they decide on. They choose one and they take a few classes before realizing it's not for them. Sometimes they just find a major they like more than the last, and that's how it went for me. Going into college I had Criminal Justice set in mind, but I eventually changed to Communications because it has a broader range of areas I can go into.
2. It's a learning experience

Sometimes failing can be one of your worst fears, but It only means it is something you're not meant to do, or it will teach you how to be better and you can learn what to work on in the future. You are the only person that holds you back, and the quicker you fail, the quicker you can succeed.
3. Failing makes you stronger

There are some people who stop and give up when they fail. Then, there are the people who fight through it and continue to fight until they succeed. Those are the people who will be successful because they grew and learned things you only can learn while working hard and working through the tough stuff.
4. If you're young, you have years to figure out what works for you

Sometimes young adults and even teenagers freak out when they don't have it all figured out. They try to rush through life and figure out what they're going to do for the rest of it. Go out and experience life. Experience different jobs and see what you truly like before officially deciding and putting all of your work to one little thing. It's okay not to know at this age.
5. You learn more from failure than success

If you succeed, than you don't learn from your mistakes or trying new things in an attempt to succeed. It's much better to try and try again because sometimes it's the only way to bring certain parts of you out, and you really truly get to know how touch you are and how much you can handle.
6. Failure makes you enjoy the success that much more

If you make it right away or something gets handed to you, it doesn't feel as great as it should be. It also makes you think everything else will come just as easy but it's not true. Now, if you fail and fail and fail, success will be so much sweeter. Along the way you'll also learn how tough you are, and you'll learn a great deal.
7. Everyone fails

Last, but not least... there isn't one person in the world who hasn't failed on something. Maybe it's missing one question on a test, or dropping out of high school, or changing majors in the middle of the semester. Even adults who are much older and wiser still fail, and it's OKAY. You don't have to do everything perfectly. Allow yourself to make mistakes.
Throughout life, you might feel like a certain mistake will ruin your life forever, and while it may be true for criminals, it's not true for you. Don't let the anxiety of not wanting to fail ruin your chance of doing something great. Take a risk, and if you fail, get back up and try again.
